Start a vbookie on the year he cracks Phil's rotation.

Horry For 3!

This is a bad move actually for the Lakers because he won't become a solid player until a couple of years (even if he does) and by then Phil Jackson will be gone and Kobe will be sucking even more.

I've had all weekend to digest the Lakers' drafting 17-year-old Andrew Bynum," said KFWB's Bret Lewis. "And soaking in broadcast and print reaction, I'm going to go on record saying he's going to be a great player.

"In fact, I believe in three or four years he will be so good that Kobe will demand that the Lakers trade him."

Brown happy to be out of Washington
August 3, 2005

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) -- Kwame Brown says he's ready for a new beginning with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Brown, drafted first overall in 2001 by Washington, was introduced by his new team at a news conference Wednesday, a day after the completion of a trade that brought the 6-foot-11 forward and forward Laron Profit to the Lakers in exchange for Caron Butler and Chucky Atkins.

``I just thank God that I'm out of Washington and looking forward to getting here and turning things around for myself and my family,'' Brown said. :smokin

HONOLULU -- Although Coach Phil Jackson plans to reinstitute his much-beloved triangle offense with his return to the Lakers' bench, the most noticeable change in the team this season will be its defense...

The Lakers are fully committed to protecting the hoop this season...As well as the relationship between Kobe and Phil....

Kobe Bryant was quoted as saying he is excited about working with the greatest coach of all time...And bringing back the winning Lakers tradition to LA... We've been through so many battles, most successfully, there's an inner respect there."

Phil Jackson is excited about getting back to work on a team committed to cohesiveness now that Shaq, Payton, Malone “off-kilter experiment” is over....

"This, without question, is the best it's been in years," said longtime L.A. sportscaster Jim Hill....

If initial reports are accurate, Jackson’s new book, "What I Meant to Say ..." Will be out by mid season... :smokin

It would be best for all Lakers' fans if they sought refuge in the NBA Classics channel.

I saw that the Lakers signed Corie Blount. Is that Bill Parcells or Phil Jackson coaching the Lakers?

Following in Shaqs Footsteps...

Despite a two-week layoff while a strained abdominal muscle healed, top draft pick Andrew Bynum will start the season with the Lakers and not be sent to the development league, Jackson said...

Andrew Bynum logged his first five pro minutes, had no points, two rebounds, one blocked shot and became the youngest player in NBA history (18 years, six days).
