A good article from the NY Times about Pop resting his players and why it has worked for him.

Pop needs no vincidation.

It is Stern who should explain himself. Till this day, nothing he has said relates to the welfare of players.

Stern plays a ridiculous 82 game schedule, half the teams make the playoffs, and he expects quality every night.

impossible.

I would say Stern has lost cred but when did he have any?

100% agree. Rest is especially important for older players. The Players Association should have at least released a comment when Stern slapped the Spurs with that penalty. They might not have been able to take any action (since it was a league penalty on the organization, not any players) but they still could have voiced their displeasure at placing the network's interests over the players.

I repeat: there's not enough player/coach/mgmt talent for 30 teams. Of 2400 games/season, less than 300 have ANY interest at all. The 2400 games are products to be sold to advertisers. The quality of the game is secondary.

Absolutely agree with this as well. The number of bad teams is so evident.

Totally agree, especially the back-to-backs and 4 games in 5 nights crap. In a 6 month schedule, they could play every third day if they wanted to...
