@WSJ
Google is gaining ground against Facebook using a controversial tactic: requiring people to use Google+. http://on.wsj.com/RtFlCl

This article seems a little alarmist. I have seen sites where if you want to post a comment, or reply to a comment it will say "log in with your facebook account? Log in with your google account? Or Log in with your (site) account." If I feel really strongly about my comment, I will make an account at the site to post my thoughts, but I never choose the google/FB thing because I don't want this site to know my FB or G+ shit.

That being said, I absolutely love the G+ interface, the ideas behind it, and it seems that there is far better discourse on that site. I wish that I could bring my friends over from FB, because I feel that G+ is so much better.

well they have only been claiming about 150 million active accounts so they aren't really inflating their numbers.

I hear you. Did a google review of a restaurant I planned on going back to with a minor complaint and I saw that it posted my face from my G+ account. Now I'm nervous everytime I go back wondering if they'd notice me and spit in my food.
