View Full Version : How Do You Like Your Steak?

CubanSucks

Do to the mac & cheese/milk thread raising the "skim milk vs whole milk" debate, I realized it's just a matter of preference. The skim people say whole milk is like drinking butter while the whole people say skim milk is like water. It's the same with steaks. The rare people say well done tastes like burnt meat while the well done people say rare tastes like chewy blood. whuddya think?

If it's a good steak it's gotta be rare tbh; anything more than medium and you might as well just go to Outback.

mrsmaalox

I voted medium, even though I like it a teensy bit more done. I can't usually eat an entire steak so if I order it medium and then just eat around the edges, I can take the leftover home and cook the middle part exactly how I like it for lunch the next day.

Yeah if you like steak well done why not go to the grocery store and buy the biggest cheapest steak that's marked down because it's about to go bad. You're gonna be cooking it well done so even if it's starting to go bad that won't be an issue :lol

When I'm cooking the steak myself, I prefer something between medium and medium well. And I usually get there by cooking to the upper side of rare/medium and then letting it cook a bit more while resting.

That said, I cannot fucking stand a well done steak. In restaurants I never order anything higher than medium.

when I worked at Saltgrass, if I had good rapport with a table and someone ordered a steak well done, I would start taking off my boot and ask if they wanted a side with it.

Regardless of if I had good rapport or not, if someone ordered a steak well done, I would say "Ok, and which do you prefer? A1 or Heinz 57?" Every single time, without a doubt, they took steak sauce.

My wife is the worst. She orders a well done sirloin and smothers it in A1. First of all... the only thing a sirloin is good for is grinding up for hamburger meat. Second... you wouldn't need steak sauce if you didn't burn the shit out of your meat. I can tolerate this behavior if we're eating at Texas Roadhouse. But if we're eating at someplace nice like Fleming's, she has to at least go down to medium.

Real Wagyu steaks aren't available in the US.

What we have here is the product of Japanese Wagyu cattle crossbred with our own Angus cattle and then fed a special diet to encourage the level of marbling close to that found in Japanese Wagyu. It's tasty, to be sure, but not significantly more so than local grass fed beef. And it's comically overpriced. The people I know who've eaten both "American Style Kobe Beef" and genuine Wagyu beef in Japan have said they're miles apart.

Ketchup is used to ADD flavor. Give me the pepsi challenge with a burger with ketchup and a steak with ketchup and 1000 times out of 1000 I'll correctly guess which one it is. I thought you were smarter than this..

the same way they perfectly cook it medium rare. It's not as if well done is a wall that can't be passed. It can still be under cooked AND over cooked, or as you'd probably say, burnt even more

:lmao just when i think CubanSucks couldn't be any more frittata he proves me wrong. But then again what do you expect from some shit stained mongoloid who jerks it to 12 year olds.

Of course they did. It allows the restaurant to charge an assload of money.

i'm not worried about the money, the meal was free.

the issue i'm having is this man befriending me then lying to my face.

can wagyu be exported? if so then i'm going to have to side with the chef on this one.

you're basically saying that shit cannot come into the U.S.

Medium Rare - to rare only for me. But I don't hate on those wanting it done someway else. Same way I don't clown those who don't eat sushi/sashimi even though that is my favorite thing on Earth from a food perspective.

It isn't a question of personal taste as much as it is one of not being a moron. Sure you can eat a steak well done, it's just stupid to do it. Just like you can eat a pizza by liquifying it in a blender and injecting it up your ass, but it would be stupid to do so.

It has to be a good cut otherwise it's pointless anyhow. But anyone who goes over medium, in my opinion, should be shot in front of their kids and their kids sold off to prostitution in Thailand.

Thousands of miles to be sure.

even if I prefer the taste and texture of it? Would it be better if I just said I don't like steak?

My wife is the worst. She orders a well done sirloin and smothers it in A1. First of all... the only thing a sirloin is good for is grinding up for hamburger meat. Second... you wouldn't need steak sauce if you didn't burn the shit out of your meat. I can tolerate this behavior if we're eating at Texas Roadhouse. But if we're eating at someplace nice like Fleming's, she has to at least go down to medium.
She sounds retarded, why did you marry her? Has she never eaten a steak in your presence prior to marriage?

Medium...........who in the fuck wants a burnt up steak or a steak thats gushing blood like a girl on her cycle? Screw both of those.
I agree.

What is medium? Is that cooked all the way through? No way I eat raw steak the steak has to be cooked all the way through.

How you order your steak tells me all I need to know about you. For someone to order a steak well done tells me that you or those that raised you had little or no money. It tells me that they had to burn their meat because the quality was so bad that it was probably infested with bacteria and things that could make you miss more than a few days of work.

Whereas those who order their steaks rare to medium rare were raised to appreciate a fresh cut of beef. A cut that needs maybe just a half a pinch of salt and that is all. These people more than likely didn't live in neighborhoods where mexicans could steal your car. Laugh Out Loud!

Just eat the thing raw, people will think your rich. lol

Smart girl. Usually they undercook it what ever you order. I have seen others get steak undercooked for what they asked for.

Classless girl tbh (LOL ordering a stupid cut of meat burnt to crisp and smothering in A1). I'm not quite the steak nazi like some in this thread, as I certainly don't do rare, but ordering well done on top of smothering it in sauce takes away the point of eating steak.

If the steak comes slightly different than what you ordered or expected, it normally is on the undercooked side for a reason. You can always ask for them to cook it slightly more and bring it back out, and the 8-16oz of good quality beef is preserved. If you overcook it past someone's taste, you have to throw away what was once a good piece of meat. Cooking steaks can be tricky because cutting the steak to check if it's done is not acceptable, and not all cuts are the same exact dimensions.

Has to be rare or medium rare... I'll accept medium without sending it back, but anything higher than that, you're ruining the food

While I enjoy giving her a hard time about it, there are far more important things to get worked up about than how she eats her steak.

I like T-Bones that are medium and tube steaks that are well done.

You really do try too hard. It's one thing to have one account for this type of "humor" but then to open another under the gay robot moniker...

We understand the schtick, we really do but there has to come a point in time when even you realize how unfunny it really is.

I still don't understand why you use the Charlie Sheen name. Why not someone who is more flamboyant?
