View Full Version : Danny Green @ The Rim

He's one of my favorite players, but how can he be so horrible finishing at the rim?!? Last night when he got the ball with a path to the rim I thought "oh no, here we go" and I'll be damned if indeed he didn't blow it!!! TWICE!!! What am I missing, how can he be so good and have such a flaw?!? Dude should work on that ALL year. IF his 3 isn't falling, he needs to be a threat at the rim. As bad as it's been, the lane should just open up and roll out a red carpet to the rim anytime he spots up for a three!! My man Danny Green is probably the first basketball player in the history of the league that has a higher percentage from 3 than from point blank range!!!

I expect every Danny Green trip into the lane to end badly. He really needs to stay outside the arc.

When Gordon was chasing him down last night I just knew it was going to be blocked. Dunking is not always about showboating, it can help to deter a block from a player that is 4 inches shorter than you.

Dude can't hit a fucking layup to save his life, shit is an enigma

Yesterdary i posted that he could finish the fastbreak (after a play he did), and as soon as I posted the comment Gordon blocked him in another fastbreak...

Makes sense Diaw leads that list, he has such a soft touch around the rim (when he does shoot, lol). I actually thought it might be in the 90s, if only we could magnify his aggressive side.

What helps a lot Diaw's % is also that he is only shooting when he is wide open.

Diaw is really good at posting his guy up and doing a spin to reverse layup

I cringe every time he goes up, just like I cringe every time Timmy throws one of his full court Hail Mary's.

I like that he's making good passes after driving nowadays, but teams will stop respecting him if he can't score from there.

It's all in his head. You can tell he lacks confidence when attempting to finish at the basket, so much so that he's panicking every time he has a chance to, especially on breakaways. I've never seen anyone blow more dunks than him.

He's 3/7 on dunks this season, and shoots about 50% on layups. Not great :/ Hopefully he can sort it out...

Well, let's see if he can get one against the Lakers.

Luckily, Ginobili is healthy and finishing at the basket lately, showing Green how it's done. We can only hope that Green keeps working on it and improves. I think he'll figure it out, maybe not in extremely heavy traffic but he has had enough opportunities to justify perfecting a high percentage go-to move when driving to the basket. Hopefully he can figure it out before the post season.

Yeah, every time I see this guy with the ball in the fast break I almost have to close my eyes. Even when he decides to pass he usually fucks that up too :lol

hes automatic when he stops at midrange and shoots

Luckily Green has improved his dive and dish ability, so he isn't always forcing up bad shots in traffic.
But yes he does need to improve finishing at the basket.
