Yeah, they'll trade Randolph for Pau and let the Gasol Brothers team up in Memphis.

I'm only kidding...sort of...

Let me get this straight......

The Lakers suck
The Mavs are a joke
The Thunder don't have Harden
The Grizz could possibly move Z-Bo
TD is playing like he's five years younger
More Duncan and Splitter
No Blair and less Bonner
Pop gets fined for resting players

Is this the Twilight Zone???

OH YES, them or the Mavs. I can see them pushing for him now.

Marc and Z-Bo for Howard and Pau. Do it Mitch!

Oh and obviously I would take Z-Bo in a heartbeat. Spurs don't have the assets though.

They should get rid of Gay of Z-bo. Shopping Z-bo would be a terrible move for them.

Is there a certain date that teams have to be able to get below the luxury tax line before being offenders? Is that where this trade talk is coming from?

Either way, imo they should try to move someone else.

Why are the Grizz so desperate to move some of their key pieces?

Why are the Grizz do desperate to move some of their key pieces?

I have no clue unless they are just flat out cheap! They are so called contenders and have a very strong team! I guess their owner is just a cheapo who will blow it up like the Clippers used to in order to save a buck.

Agreed they should ship out Gay before ZBo. Maybe they're thinking a 31 yr old ZBo won't get better, but a 26 yr old Gay might?

Probably still wanted to hang themselves for taking Thabeet over Harden. Gasol/ZBo/Gay/Harden, would probably have a title

Would they be interested in a package involving Splitter?

WTF. The Grizz are kicking ass and they want to move Z-Bo? I don't understand. At all.

They're desperate to get under the tax and Gay is apparently not drawing much interest. Houston is my guess for ZBo, they have everything the Grizz might want and they need a player like ZBo to round up a very good starting 5.

Are they that cheap to not want to keep this team together? MY GOD why? They have a very good team.

Hollinger doesn't think Z-bo and Gay have a high enough PER, off with you!

Because they're deep in luxury tax hell. Only big market teams can afford that. It sucks cause there's no parity but the Grizz @ $74 mil are desperate to shed salary while having a top 4 team in the west, while Lakers who have $100 mil payroll and are out of the playoffs don't care about it.

IMHO, ZBo is the kinda player, if kept motivated, that can still be dominant even after his athleticism is gone. I think his contract isn't that outrageous, atleast as a bigman who's clearly not a stiff and relative compared to his peers & Gay's contract. If it's true, basically the ownership is giving the city big middle finger by being el cheapo & gutting a contending team (though only with outside chance, yet still a chance nonetheless).

smokescreen to try and force the Gay trade IMO

The Grizzlies would never trade Randolph to a division rival, much less a prime competitor in the championship race this season.

spurraider21

hollinger trying to pull off the NBA version of moneyball by using advanced metrics like PER to evaluate his roster

Russo21
01-09-2013, 05:50 AM
Grizz owner may as well sell the team if this is the shit he's gonna pull.

Maybe Jacksons expiring could be used if the cheapskates wanna save cash? Pipe dream. I'm sure the Grizz will get shitloads of good offers for Randolph though. He could turn a borderline team into a contender.

How has Randolph been playing this season? Has he gotten back into form? I know he didn't have a great year last season, but that was mostly due to the injury that he had at the start of last season.

He is having an allstar yr with 17 &12 at 50% and out just 1 game this yr.

no way the Grizz front office trades him to the Lakers. How dumb are some people on here? A contender would never make a team like the Lakers any stronger than they need to be...

I don’t know how many times I have said it, but this new CAP rules (tax) is going to destroy teams. Assuming this is the reason they want to trade him. Not sure about that, 16.5 for 3 years...not bad.

I would definitively trade Tiago for this guy.

Overrated.

What he does, he does well. But he's not someone you can plug into any team and see them become a better championship contender.

He's a great fit for Memphis, they're a great fit for him.

Z-Bo's a beast when he's traded to another team and suddenly gets motivated again.
