Matthew Dellavedova now there is a kid who just needs to get a shot, he could be pick 60 and will work his way onto a roster and eventually start.

In my opinion, Dellavedova's a shorter, slower, more aggresive version of De Colo. His court vision as a point guard is phenomenal from what I saw at the Olympics. Really complemented Patty Mills well.

So Duncan sits out tonight's game with a sore knee and Baynes still has not been signed??
Strange. Anybody got any info?

We'll need to keep an eye on the sudden rise in population of Aussies in San Antonio, lately. When you hear the term "breeding like rabbits", you automatically think of Australia...plus Aussies always go around saying "mate" to people. Coincidence? I think not. :smokin

You owe me a new monitor... Solid D

The Announcement of Baynes Is Near???

No Duncan and still no signing? Worry time.

It could be a visa issue . . . I remember Corey Joseph after the lockout having to hang around and not practice in SA while waiting for the visa to clear. Maybe Baynes is still stuck.

There was a bad omen late last night, early this morning.

I was flipping channels and came across a YAHOO SERIOUS movie. It was awful, and maybe a sign of ill fate.

Turist Visa is different than work visa.

So his tourist visa is fine but his work visa is still not cleared... got it.
I guess getting a work visa it's a lot like going to the DMV to get a license. A fucking headache.

Cory Joseph had to sit on the sidelines and watch a lot of training camp after the lockout due to visa issues....

But, yeah, it's probably fair to be a little worried about a failed physical or something like that.

I was just pointing out that my memory is that Cory Joseph was physically at camp but unable to participate because of visa issues. I could be confusing him with Mills. Or I could be wrong completely.

Regardless, if Young Einstein pops up on tv tonight, we're all doomed.

It depends of your country of origin, the company that you will work for and how "special" your job actually is. However, even for NBA players, who are almost shoe-in to get it, there is paperwork to be done.

I worked in sports science at the AIS through a period that had Baynes and Patty go through. Baynes has come a long way since then, Patty we all knew would make it, cards just had to fall his way, Baynes showed glimpses but needed to do a lot of work as he came from a long way back having picked up the sport so late, his progression has been nothing short of extraordinary he is an enormous competitor, and he gets angry ina good way and thats when he plays his best ball. I think he will be a solid back up 4/5 in the NBA and see rotation minutes. I am really looking forward to see him get stuck into Demarcus Cousins....
good stuff. being a late bloomer isn't bad at all imo, it worked great for Timmy. to me it's all about passion, dedication and of course having natural physical skills. I'm happy to have Baynes come over, I think Mills is a great guy as well. I was just giving Boomersgold shit for sometimes throwing other PGs under the bus, but Mills is obviously his favorite player.

good to see Yahoo Serious jokes on here, my Last Wave reference to Patty fell flat. probably wasn't a good joke tbh.

too bad we can't give our guys the San Antone exemption

Eh...whatever happens, happens. It would suck but I'm not going to soak my pillow over it. He's almost 37. No one could have predicted him playing at the level he has played this season and it's been a joy to watch...and it potentially ending before the playoffs would not be all that surprising because what he is doing is unprecedented anyway. If this is the beginning of the end of the line then I will take the memories of this season and place them with all the rest of the great memories I have of Duncan and prepare for life after him. I have no reason to be sad as a fan for all these great years he's given me.

I still say he's ok though...and it's just extra rest from a busy opening schedule. Let's hope that's the case.

Its interesting to note. When/Should Baynes step on the court in an Spurs jersey 2 records would have been set.

1. There would have been more Australians play for San Antonio than any other NBA team (Previous record set by the Bulls, Longley, Anstey and Schenscher, then equaled by the Spurs, Gaze, Heal and Mills)
2. Never before has any NBA team had 2 Australians on its active roster. (Assuming something mysterious doesnt happen to Patty Mills)

Probably doesnt mean much to you blokes but as an Aussie and lifetime Spurs fan I'm proud of that.

Sweet. Stern should be so thankful to the Spurs for their efforts to globalize the NBA. Actually that might be the only reason we have 4 rings :D

Jeff McDonald ‏@JMcDonald_SAEN (https://twitter.com/JMcDonald_SAEN) Baynes said he's still awaiting visa clearance before he can practice. Is unsure how long that might take.

Andrew A. McNeill ‏@drew_48moh (https://twitter.com/drew_48moh)
Aron Baynes cited Reggie Evans as a somewhat similar player to himself.

Baynes says he's felt Spurs interest since first round of Euroleague.

Andrew A. McNeill ‏@drew_48moh (https://twitter.com/drew_48moh) Interesting comment from Bud re: Baynes, said Baynes may give the Spurs the ability to hedge and switch on pick-and-rolls.

That is interesting. I didn't think Baynes had that kind of quickness. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

And fuck the visa situation. Hopefully that gets resolved toot sweet! :rolleyes

Really happy for him what he's doing/contributing with the Suns lately after Ayton got suspended. Can't I believe that I'll say that I'll rather have him now instead of Aldridge. :lol Esp. with the amount what he's getting now compared to Aldridge.
