I don't think he comes in midseason anywhere. Altho some swarmy script and production having the *comeback for the ages* sequel with the current Lakers would be huge at the box office. Start of next year i think the coatailing roster has to be set along with assurances from Stern his team would continue to get the rigged reffing if a non Laker team.
