If you were watching the game last night, you noticed a long delay with the referee talking with D'Antoni and Pop. I found a video as to what happened.

So the Lakers used a timeout they didn't have in the third quarter, and rather than be called for a technical, they were given yet another long timeout to get their wind back for the last 4 minutes of the game. Makes perfect sense.

Bill and Sean were all over it and they explained that the delay was because they were supposed to go to commerical break.

That break killed the bit of momentum the Spurs had. It changed the game from that point.

Lakers had momentum since the 3rd quarter. Spurs let off the gas then, not when the TV timeout was called with 5min to go in the game.

The technicals on Jackson and then this elongated time out were IMO the main reasons the Lakers were able to come back.

The spurs hit a 3 (I think it was jax) to go up 16 with 6 minutes and change left.

At 5:09, Spurs were up 10. Kenedy stopped play because of TV. Lakers were supposed to have called time out but did not have one to call. So to get TV commercials, Kenedy took it on his power as an NBA referee to stop play, without penalty to Lakers. This penalized the Spurs as the Lakers got free rest and continued their comeback. Of course, we were still up 10, when the Spurs tough guy Stephen Jackson exploded. He knew he was going to get called for a tech. This is unacceptable no matter what he brings to the table. The second tech should find him on the bench in street clothes for a couple of games as a reward from Pop. He, single handedly, allowed the Lakers to get back in the game.
