If I were in charge, this would be the guy I target for Bruce Bowen to mold. For a player of his size, he moves his feet as well as anyone in the league. He already has a Bruce like motor on defense but is still raw. If the Spurs can get him and let Bruce teach him the inner working on how to be the best defender in the league, he could be the eventual replacement.

His offense is weak, but I really like him as a defensive stopper down the road. Last offseason, I said that I wanted Theron Smith or Linton Johnson III as eventual Bruce replacements.

If the Spurs pass on Linton, I say go to Theron. He could be a defensive monster in a few seasons.

P.S.

Oh and the Bobcats declined their option on him making him an unrestricted free-agent. His price tag should be a minimum deal at this point.

The team did not exercise forward Tamar Slay's contract option for next season, nor did it make a qualifying offer to forward Theron Smith.

However, both will be invited to play on the summer-league team.

Come home to San Antonio, Theron.

Sign him up. Watching him and Linton putting up jumpers in summer league would be one of the funnier things I could think of.

Masonry contest.

He doesn't need much offense. Just point him to the corner and tell him to start throwing them up.
