Figured I'd make this thread.

I predict the Lakers to come out like it's game 7, take a lead early, and then lose it big altogether.

OKC - 104
Lakers - 92

I have us going 15-1...we'll lose that Grizzles game...now that we're back to .500 with Nash back, (even though Dwight is not 100%) and Pau back our season officially begins with the next game...I'm pretty optimistic...I think we can pull this off..look for a whirlwind of fun and exciting ball coming right up...

Instead of only looking at the next 16 opponents lets take a closer look at what the PG match-up will be....

@Nuggets - Nash > Ty Lawson
Blazers - Nash > D. Lilliard
Sixers - Nash > Jrue Holiday
@Clippers - Nash = CP3
Nuggets - Nash > Ty Lawson
@ Rockets - Nash > Jeremy Lin
@ Spurs - Nash = T. Parker
Thunder - Nash = Westbrook
Cavs - Nash = Kyrie Irving
Bucks - Nash > Monta Ellis
Heat - Nash > M . Chalmers
@Raptors - Nash > Calderon
@ Bulls - Nash > M. Teague
@Grizzlies - Nash > Mike Conley
Jazz - Nash > Mo Williams
Thunder - Nash = Westbrook

I'm with you on the cupcake adjective. I typically don't speak too soon, but LAL looks like complete ass. I can't see this one being much of a contest. They look shittier than I expected, even with their bigs out. LAC, however, still very scary.

Apparently OKC didn't get the memo. Same story every game with the Lakers. They fall behind double-digits, opposing team slacks off, Lakers go into game 7 mode and fight back.

Hopefully Brooks understands the Lakers are a wounded, yet dangerous, animal and steps on their fuckin' throat next time OKC has a sizable lead. Brooks should've kept the starters in to close the quarter. But no, he had to get complacent and sub in some scrub named DeAndre Liggins.

You can't feel bad for a franchise like the Lakers. When they're on top every fair weather fan is letting you know about it. When they're playing below their standards they scheme their way back into contention with a lopsided trade that leaves people wondering what kind of mentally handicapped GM would trade with the Lakers. They did that again this off season, but it hasn't panned out due to several reasons - and that's hilarious.

I'm enjoying every second of this historical collapse.

One gets the sense that this sort of thing would never happen with a Duncan-centric team. He makes players around him better, Kobe doesn't, etc.

Would be one of the most epic failures in recent memory if the Lakers fail to make the playoffs this year. Don't forget this team was touted as the #1 opposition to the Heat this year.

It's getting to the point where it's definitely not a lock for them to make the playoffs. 7 teams are locked in barring an injury development, Lakers will be battling with the Mavs/Blazers/Wolves/Jazz for the #8 seed.

I learned Dwight went to the lakers late and really didn't read the news articles or posters

In my opinion at the time Lakers just got a bit better to compete but not to beat OKC, Memphis, Clips or even the healthy Spurs. So I'm not surprised at all by this. Lakers did underachieve, but not by historic margins IMO

I knew Dwight was one of the most overhyped players in history. No player that gets bailed out by Turkoglu will get you somewhere

the Laker hype is what is making this bigger than what it is.

No team will ever win with Howard. Seriously the guy is about as retarded, childish, and unprofessional as they get. You can just look at the guy (ie last night sitting on the bench) and he just has this look like he doesn't give a shit about anything but himself. It's just unreal how someone can waste so much talent. If Howard possessed 25% of the mindset of a guy like Collison he would be off the charts. I'd trade his stupid ass and just start that tatted rookie from Gonzaga.
