View Full Version : 7-11 sucks....

CosmicCowboy

Been getting my weekday morning coffee fix at the 24 hour Exxon station at the corner of Callaghan and I-10 for years. Pretty decent coffee at a good price and I could fill up my Bill Miller ice tea mug for under a dollar. The place was always busy and there was usually a line to checkout. Then they sold all the Tiger Marts to Speedy Stop. No major changes...still 24 hours and decent coffee at a decent price. Now they sold to 7-11...fuckers don't even open until 6am now and I'm already at work by then. Totally screwed up my coffee karma.:(

There are QTs in the D/FW area, not sure where else they might be in TX.

Bucee's is coming out of Louisiana, there are about 20 total between the two states, so they're nowhere near as numerous as the QTs are. Only a few are the humungous 'flagship' stores as pictured above, the rest are more comparable to QT/Racetrack/etc.

Dude, I leave the house at 5:30. I don't really want to fuck with making coffee that early when I'm still sleep walking. It's definitely worth the 96 cents to me to fill my 72 ounce travel mug. Hopefully after inventory/transition they keep the coffee the same and open back up 24/7.

I have a cheap bodum one, it works great - they are a good brand. I use it for Yerba Mate and Guayasa, since I don't drink coffee myself. I wouldn't get the lowest end one though, the filter can come unstuck from the press with a lot of use.

I was considering getting one because they are highly rated. I used to have a glass one, but the plunger eventually wore out. I like this one because it seems like it is easy to clean.

I've been using one of those Keurig coffee makers, but using your own coffee in it is a hassle.

They have had Keurig at work, but they just replaced them with one called flavia and another different machine (that uses filter pods). None of them taste very good to me. I drank some of the coffee my wife brewed this weekend and it was delicious (texas pecan from costco I think). I thought I could get something like this for work.

Haha the Buckees in New Braunfels is one of the most ridiculous places Ive been too tbh. They have like 100 gas pumps outside, the restrooms have like 50 urinals and 20 toilets, dairy section, bakery, clothing section, hunting section, like 20 registers you can cash in at, on top of everything else a normal gas station has but twice the size. Not to mention the fact that they have like 50 employees working on a normal weekday...I couldnt help but love just how douchey the whole concept behind the store was. :lol
