It's not easy to officiate the Grizzlies. Much like Sloan's Jazz teams they play with a ton of physicality. Can't call every foul.

Completely agree.

Btw wasnt the forum going to add a "like" button. Probably better than posting my above comment.

Are you a long-time Spurs fan, or just since Patty arrived? There is NO WAY this will happen. Baynes has a difficult and complex system to learn before Pop will consider playing him in anything but garbage time.

I was more referring to the fact that Splitter plays better with the bench. Are there any rotations that would have Splitter come off the bench?

And actually, no you weren't. You were dreaming about Baynes and forgetting that he's an NBA rookie who has a lot to learn.

It was a strong loss. I watched it start to finiush. We played well except for 3mins at end of 1st half, and 2mins at end of 4th Q, then ran out of gas in OT.

An away loss in OT against a top 4 team is never a strong loss imo.

how about NOT substituting Splitter in the starting lineup? how about having our best bigs out there. for 30 minutes per game apiece. its not like they spend all their time on the floor together anyway, there are plenty of minutes with timmy/diaw or splitter/diaw or jax out there as the 4. in fact, up until garbage time, im not sure we had more than maybe 2 minutes with neither tim nor tiago out there.

realize that tiago has much of the same role as he did before (plays with the 2nd unit quite a bit) but is simply getting more minutes than he did as a bench player. those extra minutes are coming alongside duncan

Boomersgold notice that Tiago for the season (counting his games as starter AND reserve) is averaging around 21 minutes per game, and he is averaging north of 25 per game with the starting unit. so he's getting about 5-10 minutes more per game than he did as a reserve (which i'm sure we're all happy about). it just so happens these extra minutes are coming alongside tim

When your opponent is getting all the calls AND shooting lights out, maybe it's time to look at what you're doing.
You have to beat your opponent or they will beat you.
Spurs seem perpetually back-footed against good teams. There's a reason for it, and it has little to do with the opponents merely shooting well and supposedly getting preferential treatment from the refs.

I was wondering if you'd eat crow at the end of the thread, but I guess not.

With Gasol out much of the first half, second half will be a lot tougher.
