Why are we still letting fans vote? Everything that is wrong with the NBA in a two sentences:

Blake Griffin, Clippers – His scoring, rebounding and shooting are all down from a year ago. But when you can jump over a car to dunk and show up with CP3 on the highlight reels every night, people tend to notice and vote for you. Highlights (http://www.nba.com/video/channels/allstar/2013/01/17/west-all-star-starter-blake-griffin.nba/index.html).

You're retarded... of course his scoring, rebounding, and shooting are down, because he's playing less minutes...

The highlight reels actually do him a disservice, since they don't show the improvements he's made on his game and perpetuate the myth that "he can only dunk"...

Sons no one should be surprised by this. The NBA is big business, sports ENTERTAINMENT. They have to put who ESPN and the media tells them to put in the spotlight. The NBA has never been about the most deserving or the most talented. It's all about who can sell the product. That is all.

It's a sad state of affairs when Carmelo Anthony is by far the second best player in the East. I don't even know who the third best player is in that garbage heap of a conference.

Well, no, I just watch him play, tbh....

The real case to eliminate fan voting is that old-ass KG, who can only play in 5-minute intervals, is starting in the East....

Very fair criticism, there are many more, and I'm not saying blakeyboy doesn't deserve at least a reserve AS nod or something... but I can't be the only one smh at the fact someone with blake griffin's skillset is a lock for being a perenial all-star starter year-in-and-out because of the system... though that probably says just as much about the quality of stars in the NBA today as it does about the popularity contest the ASG is tbh

:lol A reserve AS nod? Who deserves to start over him? Not David Lee, who averages less points, steals, assists, and blocks per 36 minutes than Blake while turning it over more often... not LaMarcus Aldridge, who averages less points and rebounds per 36 minutes... not ZBo, who averages less points, steals, assists, and blocks per 36 than Blake.... so who?

@ArashMarkazi (https://twitter.com/ArashMarkazi): Dwight Howard is pretending to walk around the Lakers locker room with his imaginary girlfriend, Judy.

Tells all you need to know about this guy.

Uhhh, timmy? lol Way more skileed basketball wise instead of monkeyballer, averages similar numbers on offense while not pretty much getting all his baskets off cp3 or pure athleticism, grabs more boards, 1000% more valuable to his team and it's a joke to compare them as defensive players. I thought my butthurt over him not making was pretty obvious tbh otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to complain lol

Clipper Nation
01-17-2013, 09:58 PM
Imho, Griffin and Duncan should be the starting frontcourt.... also, having CP3 and being extremely athletic helps, but Griffin's also improving his post game, jump shot, and defense, tbh... of course Griffin's fundamentals aren't going to be picture-perfect yet, it's like people forget he hasn't been in the league very long...

It's a fucking exhibition game not game 7 of the Finals, stop being butthurt about it.

Real talk, spurfan constantly cries about resting the players, this should be good news to you guys.

Tbh unless Pop begs the 29 other coaches of the league not to vote for Tim or Tony they'll be shoo-ins as reserves.

DA Jordan? 9.3 PPG 7 boards 1.5 BPG and a PER of about 17? You got to be kidding!

Duncan is the best big in the West this year and it is not even close. 17.2 PPG 9.8 RBG and 2.8 blocks and top PER of any big in the West
