Is anyone else getting tired of this bullshit?

Never mind the obvious hypocrisy of a guy who knifed a dude to death, covered it up, and then claimed to be a Jesus guy. I'm pretty sure God isn't sitting in heaven placing bets on a stupid football game. And whottt about all the other "weapons" in past seasons where the Ravens were eliminated in the playoffs? How come those prospered at the time but this year they aren't?

I wish I was an NFL reporter tbh I'd have a lot of questions for Ray Ray imho

That's one of my favorite sayings I've heard in sports. I think it's great at inspiring confidence. The Ravens have overcome a lot this year, and the amount of unity in that locker room is incredible. It's a complete change from where it was during the latter part of last decade. It reminds me of their 2000 run, where players on both sides of the ball believed in each other.

I'm fine with either http://helmet2helmet.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/ed-reed.jpg or http://wedontknowitasfootball.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/randy-moss1.jpg getting their first ring. Gotta root against Frisco though when it comes down to it as a Cowboy fan though...

That's cool and all but unless you've never lost a game in sports ever, it doesn't change the fact that the "weapons" prospered against you all those other times.

Yeah, still can't believe Ed Reed doesn't have a ring...I want it for him 10x more than I want it for Ray. btw, who's a better GM than Ozzie Newsome?

He actually said, "No weapon formed against us shall prosper," at the beginning of this run. So far, he's correct. Even if they lose, it doesn't make saying that a bad thing. You have to believe you will win every game you play. There's no reason to hedge. People who say they can't lose, lose all the time. The media just doesn't report it. I guarantee you the Patriots thought they were going to win this game for sure. If they didn't that might explain why the Ravens had the edge.

I wish he were better at moving around in the draft. His trades on draft day haven't really worked. I also wished he better structured contracts. But honestly, he has to be top three.

At the same time, he's basically saying "Nobody can ever beat us!" when that's been proven to be incorrect as Ray Lewis has lost a lot of games in his career. If he wants to say it fine, but don't be surprised when that phrase disappears faster than mookie at a TING family reunion if they lose in the Superbowl

He means this season. Of course the phrase is going to disappear faster than Pats fans did tonight if the Ravens lose. It always does. He's no worse than anyone else for saying that. I don't like when people pretend that God supports them more than their opponents, but I also believe that faith is the most powerful motivation in sports. Ray gave it to them, and for that I'll forgive him pulling the God card all the time.

He also said that God intended for them to lose last year (he said that last year, too), so he's not one of those people who only invokes God when they win.

How the hell is this trolling? When you're trying to motivate people, and you can convince them God is on their side, that's a huge boost. So long as he did not say last year that God was on their side, there's no reason not to say it this year. Last year, when they lost, he said that God didn't want them to win, but that they would be back. He also said God wouldn't let them go through the trials of the playoffs to lose in the same place again.

You don't have to believe what he said, but there's no doubt that the team is playing as well as they are because he said that. If they lose, he will be wrong, but until that happens, the team has no reason to doubt him.

Hate... Regardless of what Ray Lewis has done.. Whatever he's been accused of, he is a great football player. The NFL is lucky to have him, the ravens are lucky to have him.
He has been a true underdog in the NFL.. If you are the type to ever admire an underdog, there is no better team to root for than the Baltimore Ravens.
This team has gone through so much as far as losing goes that it's almost impossible to admire this team, for all the adversity its gone through.
Pick your team this coming Super Bowl, but know this. You'll get a wonderful Superbowl, because playing hard is all these 2 teams know how to play..
Enjoy. :toast

Now Ray will never have to eat his words. But I didn't BUMP (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/member.php?u=6341) this thread to say that. I saw this video on a Ravens forum, and I thought it fit the subject matter of this thread.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=PhsdFC56dNs

Ray apparently "blessed" Jones before his KR touchdown. He wiped his hands on Jones' chest as Jones was getting ready to take the field.

That's not entirely weird, as players will often try to rub a kicker or returner hoping for that to be lucky somehow...

Well anyway, like with most superstitions, it's only ever reported when the player actually goes on to score. What's funny about this time is that after Jones' touchdown, Lewis ran around the sidelines telling people that God told him to touch Jones (so many jokes can be made here).

Maybe he thinks God was playing favorites more than I initially thought.
