I say trade Jackson, an Green for Jason Richardson an cap space. Is that possible? If not him, then someone we can count on hitting a mid range shot, 3 ball, or drive sometimes an can finish around the rim. Keep Blair an let him play for his contract, an give Bonner spot mins. It kills me we go through droughts an cant make a midrange shot.

Neal and Jax don't look good after their injuries. They still have time to recover and get in shape

Trade Jackson? That >60% playoff 3 point shooting, though.

<edit> Maybe if we trade Horry, Jacque Vaughn and Brent Barry for J.R. Smith and cap space we can get past the Mavs and Suns this year.

LMAO

I would trade Neal over Blair first let alone guys that actually contribute on a game to game basis.

Jacksons been a TOSB for a few seasons now
extremely inefficent maybe the most inefficient in the nba
also too slow to defend any wing/SFs
to small to guard PF

id rather take a chance on Witherspoon then Jack
id rather have a guy who will shoot near 40% most games then a guy who will go 6/7 one game or on a 14/18 type stretch then go on a 2/16 type stretch right after
consistency tbh

Yes, let's bring on a d-leaguer who couldn't make our squad in training camp and replace our most clutch playoff performer.

6.9 pts per game on 6.3 shots
.382/.289/.689 "efficiency"

also being gifted 21 minutes a game
even after the typical 0-6 eggs he layed like tonight
also cant defend anyone but post up SFs who dont exist in the nba
unless you count lebron/durant who will just blow by him

Jackson is useless outside of game 6s

Jackson makes way too much to match up salary wise. Green not enough.

Terrible take. Please refer to the most important playoff series/game last year against OKC. Jack shows up when it really matters.

Jack is essential if the Spurs ever face Miami in the playoffs. He's also great in the locker room. I wouldn't be surprised if they resign him so his deal expires with Duncan's new contract.

Jack means so much to this team off the court I'd be very hesitant getting rid of him. Obviously he isn't irreplaceable on the court but he brings a lot of intangibles/attitude to a team that needs it at times. Instead of Bonner getting those 8-10 minutes every once in awhile I would like to see the Spurs try to go small with Jack at the 4.

Showed up in a game we lost
Spurs also blitzed OKC in the first half and everyone was hitting their 3s not just jackson

spurfan with their homer goggles from 10 years ago
hes terrible in pretty much every game he plays except game 6s
also takes away minutes from leonard whos proven to be a gamechanger

Jack doesn't need to go anywhere, Green and Blair need to be gone, imo. Green's moment are far and few and so far non-existent in the post season. Blair is well, Blair.

And we lost everyone of those games. Clutch is when you make shots that win games not just make shots.

I've never understood this mentality. So if Manu makes that three at the end of game 5 and the Spurs win in ot, even if Jax doesn't do shit the rest of the game, is he considered clutch? But since the Spurs lost, we have to throw out his contributions?

That makes it sound like Jax is responsible for the loss. As a role player, he can only do so much...it's not his fault that Pop and Parker sucked in game 5 and the refs took over the game in game 6.

Agree with OP. I hope they get rid of any of Jackson, Blair, Green, Boner, Neal, Diaw. I'm excited for the deadline to come around to see who gets traded and waived around the nba and i hope we are active players. I hope the spurs F/O is busy. As long as the teams core stays intact with Tim, Tony, Manu, Leonard and Splitter they'd help the transition phase along nice n smoothly. I can't imagine the team would skip a beat.

This is hilarious. The Spurs currently have the 3rd best record in the league and are just 1/2 game from being # 1. Yes, they have their flaws but people in this forum want to bust up this team by trading Capn' Jack, Danny Green and/or Gary Neal. Really? The Spurs have played a tough schedule and have a real chance at finishing with the # 1 record in the West again. We all know that's nice to have but the important thing is that it will leave the Clips and Thunder battling it out in the second round.

No need to panic. If a deal makes sense for Jackson, pull the trigger but let's see how this current roster plays out. Manu has the ability to make everyone better.

After tonight's game, the Spurs have the most wins in the NBA (33), the best streak in the NBA (W5), and the Thunder and Clippers both lost. :tu

GOOD LORD you guys at times are some idiots, way too negative and panic game after game even when the SPURS are winning! Relax. Spurs are doing very well for their schedule so far, what more can you ask? What do you want them to have 5 losses or less right now? That is not possible with the schedule they have had.

Trade Jackson and Green for a guy who just had fluid drained from his knee? How about NO. Richardson won't produce what Jack will once it comes down to money time...

The Spurs are 33-11 and have their easiest stretch right after the Rodeo Road Trip. Jeez, GNSF can get annoying.

On the other hand that's what made the Spurs regular season champs in the last few seasons... who care we're 33-11 if we lose to all the best teams and won't get past OKC in the playoffs?

The reality is that the Spurs have some useless players right now (Blair, Neal), some dispensable ones (Green, Bonner) and some overpaid ones (Jackson, and even Manu to a lesser extent). The Spurs would be foolish not to try to improve. I'm not saying the OP has the answer (he doesn't :D) but it's natural for posters to think on how the Spurs can improve, as I don't see us as championship caliber right now. And when the GOAT is on your team, a ring is the target, not a division title...

The "Real Spurs Fans" as they call themselves are simply happy with whatever goes on. Its funny cuz they say relax we're winning or got the best record in the league an the playoffs start. Then they be the main ones saying who the Spurs shouldve would've could've! So why dont some of you real spurs fans look ay the spurs the same way you look at the Heat. Its either a championship or bust! Fuck the regular season. That shit is for old folks with nuttin to do.

As much as I like a fifth ring for TD and Pop this is a league where Kevin Durant gets 20 uncontested 15 footers night in night out. Everything has to go right for the Spurs to win a ring, a la 2007.

Lmmfao, im just throwing SGs names out there. Someone that can hit a open shot (I know he missed the open 3 for the win last night). But someone who can take the load off Tim an Tony. Hell you cant even count on Ginobili to hit a open shot these days.
