If Bayne is who we think he is, our bigman rotation has everything it needs.
Now hear me out: we need a veteran point guard, someone who can confidently handle the rock, distribute AND score.
Neal + Bonner for JJ berea works.
stop your bellyachin. we once brought in Robert Horry of all people.
Minny is currently surviving with 10 day contract kinda guys. a proven floor spacing bigman could be just what they need. they get rid of their logjam at PG with Rubio Ridnour and Berea. They also recieve a proven scorer in Neal, and possibly a 1st round pick for their troubles. Spurs get a veteran ballhandler who can step up when Ginobili is injured AND succesfully play WITH Ginobili, as well as distribute when needed.
the key is Bonner playing well in these little showcasing stints that we give him. and if anyone can look like a legitimate bigman for a few good games in a row (before disappearing off of the face of the planet) Bonner can. a couple more 19/7, 15/5 type games and he'll be having an excellent time making sandwiches for the great people of minneapolis. If Bonner ever wants to do anything to help this franchise... now is his time. step up for a month, be enticing enough to fool Minny into pulling the trigger and we'll mail him a faux championship ring in the fall.
yes Derrick Williams would be better but that just aint happenin.
