If Phoenix gets Gary Payton that would be a perfect fit for a backup for Nash.

You think Payton's days as a starter are over? You think he realizes that? :lol

Shit if thats the case lets get him to be our backup, I know him and TD are pretty good friends I think he would fit in well here.

He's already expressed interest in going to Phoenix.

I am confused about all the backcourt that PHO is bringing in. They still have Barbosa and Jackson.

Strongly Rumored:
Finley
Bell
Payton

The deeper Phoenix gets the longer they will be able to sustain their running game.

Wow, if Payton goes to Phoenix they are not winning a championship. Never mind all the talk about them upping their D, Payton will never win a championship. It's the difference between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Manning is a great QB, but Brady is a winner.

Payton will be much more effective in limited time and Nash will play most of the minutes so if Phoenix worries about their backup point guard they could just play Johnson. If Payton is effective in limited minutes they will play him more.
It is a win win situation for Phoenix.

In related news, Karl Malone will be coming out of retirement to "recreate the glory".

Paytonn is going to be effective if the let him put some nitrous boosters on his wheel chair. He's was never a runner and gunner and he's sure as hell not going to fit the Suns system now that he's in his seventies.

I remember years back payton saying that he and Tim got to be really good friends at the qualyfing tournement i think it was in 2000. He said he really got to know Tim's dad also, and was also one of the first to publicy express his condoloences to Tim when he dad passed.
