I like Kyrie a lot ... His uncle drew commercials aregreat too but not sure he is top 2 pg ...yet. but he is moving up the list ...

Look, shooting 45%+ for a PG is very good. Shooting 45% on that volume of shots for a PG is pretty awesome. Shooting 45% on that volume of shots when you have to take plenty of tough ones and create everything for yourself is amazing. He's such a bad defender (even though defense from a PG is overrated) that he's not top 2 though. He's top 5 for sure though.

Well, if Rose comes back to 100% he's obviously #1 or #2.

Who's better than Kyrie aside from Paul and Rose?

Not sure but 2 seems high ...will rank them at seasons end.But moving him up after a hot start especially since he has been injured some as well seems pre-mature.

Parker, Westbrook for sure.
For now. Next year Kyrie will be head and shoulders better than those two.

Irving has all the tools to become the next Derrick Rose (less athleticism but more skill). Right now, he's still really bad at defense so I can't rate him over TP, Westbrook or even Curry. But it's only a matter of time before he passes those three. By this time next year, the best PG in the league should be a three-man race between CP3, Rose (assuming he comes back 90%+ of what he was) and Irving.

Oh, and yeah, Rondo's fallen off a cliff defensively.

freetiago
01-22-2013, 10:31 PM
Kyrie basically had a 50/40/90 for the majority of last season til he was playing injured
hes already a better scorer then westbrook and parker
and he doesnt have any teammates to pass too so we dont really know how good he can be assisting
hes terrible defensively but all point guards really need to do is be able to contest mid range shots while the centers guard the rim

His TS% is good too, since while he doesn't draw a lot of fouls he gets to the line well enough. Shooting in the high 30s/low 40s from 3 is great for a PG too.

Agree with most of this, best post of yours downstairs in weeks ... Usually you only grace us with pithy Kobe remarks

1. He makes amazing passes at least once a game. Passing often comes with age and experience.

2. Irving is scary. 20 year old and already one of the most unstoppable 4th quarter players in the league.

3. I'm ready to offer the entire Rockets roster for Irving in a trade.

hoping the Cavs can somehow go 20-19 to close the year so I can hit my regular season over (30.5) .. :lol

Is Westbrook that good defensively? I'll still take Kyrie because he won't hero ball my team out of a game. Dude is getting it done. If he had the calls they do in Oklawhistle City, he'd be even more dominant.

It seems like Westbrook is really underrated by a lot of people. Yes, his decision making could be better, but he is a damn good/dominant PG. Half the reason his decision making is considered poor is because he happens to play with Durant. In most cases, a great player like Westbrook keeping the ball isn't really a bad thing, but when you play with Durant it is. While it's a valid knock on his game, he does a lot of really, really good things.

In all honesty though, Kyrie is so good I think it's splitting hairs to argue about him and Westbrook.

Westbrook is a Kobe-style defender. Good on-ball, horrid off-ball (remember TP's game winner earlier this season? Westbrook got caught ball-watching).

Amongst PG's, one of the best in terms of defensive rating. But Westbrook is overrated as a PG. Put him on Cleveland and his numbers would take a hit.

Fair criticism, Artest us the same. They are good at focusing on their own men but I think Westbrook is a better team defender than either guy. Russ is very underrated in this forum, I have been one of his few consistent reporters.

I like Irving. He plays with decisiveness, with purpose. As if everytime he touches the ball, he already knows what he's going to do with it. Smooth guy.. Batman really fits the name.
