Baynes is in SA, they just haven't announced the signing. Bruno pointed if they waited a day it would lessen the amount on the Spurs salary cap.

Favorable portion of the schedule for this sort of thing. Only five games in the next 14 nights, all against teams with losing records, with four of those games at home.

Yeah, this is terrible news. Duncan had insisted all season that his knees were doing great. I guess the glimmer of good news is that he did great in his last outing ... but that's not much of a glimmer. Duncan hasn't missed a game due to his knee specifically for a couple seasons, IIRC.

I'm not worried about Leonard. It's better to be safe with that knee bruise/cut.

Good to see Ginobili back.

But, damn, that Duncan news sucks :td

And tonight is going to be a really tough game. The Hornets have been playing well, they've played the Spurs incredible close as of late and the Spurs have no Duncan, no Leonard and a limited Ginobili. Oh, and Robin Lopez typically tosses Splitter around like a rag doll. Parker is going to have to go HAM to give the Spurs a chance, most likely.

Hopefully its all precautionary, with the added benefit of trying to showcase Blair/Bonner for a trademark prudent Spurs trade, as well as give Jack more PT to work through his recent struggles.

With the heavy lifting Tony will surely need to do, it would be great if one of his backups would step up and take the job like they want it.

Well obviously Leonard is injured, and I've seen a couple of people on here say they saw Duncan limping in the Philly game so who knows. I hope it's just rest again for Timmy. Anything regarding his knees is just terrifying to me. Oh and by the way it's a shame they haven't announced the signing of Baynes yet.

most likely Duncan's knee is a concern. He will sit 2 of the last 4? The good news is Spurs will be ubber cautious with him and most likely he'll play through it rest of the season although not 100%

TP will have to play hard, the back-up pgs have to not mess up, the bench has to not suck, and the remaining bigs have to step up. Problem is that NOH is pretty fast iirc so I'm not sure how Bonner will do without any additional space. Hopefully Manu plays well.

This is a problem as far ad Timmy is concerned. If they just wanted to rest him, then they would have done so on the b2b , not tonight. Add that to the fact that he was hobbling around last night, and I'm slightly worried. The only silver lining is how well he played last night and how solid he was on the block.

I'm cool with the rest and being cautious, especially given the potential for exacerbating previous injuries. But it sucks that it happened right after he started to regain his jumper and get back his offensive flow. It also brings the possibility of Manu coming back too soon and aggravating his own injury or worse.

Spurs are in a virtual tie for first in the west. I'd be okay with shutting him down for a month if it allows him to play at this kind of level in the postseason. The Spurs have no shot with a Timmy that's 75% in the playoffs.

I hope something that drastic isn't necessary, but I would be very content to see him get a few games off here and there, when the schedule is particularly rough. It's always good for the rest of the guys to be forced to play without the amazing safety net Timmy provides.

Health is obviously first priority, especially with Tim. But I really think the Spurs need the first seed to have a legit chance of making it to the Finals. It's a catch-22 for me. I want Tim and others to rest if they need it, but I also want the Spurs to win games and secure homecourt. Hopefully they can do both like last season.

HC is kind of over-rated. The seedings matter of course so the road to the finals is easier but Spurs had HC last year and in the critical game 5 at home lost.. Healthy TD is all that matters, HC or not.. Just try and stay in the top 3..
