So..why are the Suns on TNT tonight, tbh?..

I haven't watched a minute of Suns ball this year, any interesting players to watch on their team this season, tbh?..

need the Suns to go 31-51 this year or worse..

Quite frankly, I don't think there's anything interesting about this years Suns team. They're a bad team with no intriguing young players... they're just bad.

Sons, forget that bitch Curry who celebrates every made jump shot like he just won Finals MVP.... it's a damn shame that we won't get to see Jamal break every ankle in the Eastern Conference at the All-Star Game, tbh... he's the real snub, imho...

The Suns are a horrendous team, there's really no excuse for the Clippers to be playing like a D-League team right now even with CP3 hurt, considering the vets and depth on this team... and as I write this, the Suns are on the midst of a 7-0 run to start the second quarter and we ARE down double digits...

Vinny's complete lack of a system on offense or defense has been exposed without CP3 healthy and will get exposed in the playoffs, it's going to be fucking amazing when he's not asked back next year and we get a real coach...

The Clippers just need 5 minutes of good basketball and they'll be leading.

Clips are good, but CP3 IS that team. They're like the Nets of the early millennium with/without Jason Kidd. Take away Kidd, and that team was in the cellar.

Bledsoe is a decent point guard, and Crawford can create his own shot, but beyond that, everybody else relies on Paul. Especially monkey-ball Griffin, who suddenly looks incredibly ordinary when he doesn't have Paul to draw double-teams and lob him dunks.

Not saying the Clippers aren't a good team. Just saying, you can't expect a car to go very far without its engine.

Clippers have the same problem as Miami, re: coaching..

They don't have a system, they rely entirely on talent, Paul is the leader on the team and the coach on the floor, similar to Lebron/Wade..Billups' leadership will help as well, but he probably doesn't have any game left..

I don't think Paul can elevate to Lebron's level, though..

He doesn't need to though. That team is plain dumb and when him & Billups come back, it'll put them on par with OKC. The Spurs need some one who can guard Durant to stand a chance and from the way he's getting to the line, i don't think S Jack can body him up like he did Dirk back in the days.

I'm as glad as anybody to watch the Clips lose and gain a little distance in the standings, but this is hardly a death knell....they were without their best player, and any NBA team can lose to any other NBA team on any given night (except the Cavs, that shit is just embarrassing...lol Lakers)

I dunno why people get surprised at shit like this still.

There's definitely parity in the NBA regular season. Maybe not as far as true title contenders, but outside of the Bobcats there's no atrocious teams in the NBA this year.

I seriously believe the Thunder, Spurs, and Heat are the only contenders...

I just think the Clippers are a bit quasi-contender to me, I don't like being led by a PG, their defensive rebounding is poor and depth becomes less relevant in the playoffs.

Can someone explain to me who watches the Spurs more why they can't beat the Thunder??..

They can, especially with Harden out of the picture.

Reasons the Thunder cause problems for the Spurs:
1) Durant....enough said. He causes problem for every team. The Spurs have a couple of guys to sic on him...Leonard and Jackson in particular...but you still aren't going to stop a guy like KD....Personally, I feel like if anybody is going to take the next MJ crown, it's him.
2) OKC has the bigs to bother what the Spurs want to do...Ibaka and Perkins are a formidable inside combo. Everybody knows if you can keep Parker and Ginobili out of the lane, the Spurs become beatable.
3) The Thunder live in the areas that the Spurs are weak...aka mid-range and three-point shooting.

Reason the Spurs can beat the Thunder:
1) Relating to the third part of the previous section....teams that live and die by the jumper are always vulnerable. The general consesus is that teams won't be able to shoot their way out of a 7-game series...OKC did it last year, can they do it again? Can Ibaka have another 11-11 game in him?
2) Tim Duncan is having a fountain-of-youth season, giving the Spurs a a low-post presence the Thunder sorely lack. That usually bodes well for one team, I'll let you figure out which one it is.
3) As mentioned before, no more James Harden to cancel out Manu Ginobili off the bench.
4) Can lightning strike twice? The Thunder beat the Spurs last year, but they had to shoot well above their regular season averages from mid-range and three-point to do it. If they can repeat that performance, all you can do is take your hat off to them.

i started to write a small dissertation but ill give you the short story.

our role players arent good enough. Tony hasnt figured out Sefalosha. No consistent Post scoring from bigmen. Backup PG situation is woeful. seeming inability to guard Ibaka midrange J. and Thunderefs are called ThundeREFS for a reason, Tbh. now its not impossible for us to beat the thunder, but a few things would have to go our way, including westbrook doing his best Rudy Gay impersonation, Kevin Martin shrinking in playoffs, and SOMEONE outside of big 3 stepping up on offense consistently. Stephen Jackson almost singlehandedly did it last year so its not impossible. maybe it will be Kawhi this year like we all hope.

I see a lot of "Timmy resurgence" stuff but unless he starts playin 40 minutes a night i dont see it from him. he cant "impose his will" on Perkins enough for us to ride him all series like them 2003 days.

I don't think it's "can't" but the Spurs should be strong underdogs in that matchup. I'd say the Thunder would have about an 80% chance of beating the Spurs as things stand.

1. Durant is by far the best player on either team. In the NBA, that matters a ton.

2. Their stars can play huge minutes. Hell, Durant can (and did) play the whole game, same with Westbrook. Compare that to the Spurs, whose stars need their minutes limited. Even in the playoffs, TD goes about 35, TP about 38 and Ginobili about 30. That hurts when Durant goes 48 and Westbrook goes 45.

3. The Spurs rely on passing. The Thunder are loooooooooooooong and make passing much more difficult than it is against any other team.

4. Trapping Parker with Sefolosha and another long player with Ibaka waiting to block the shot under the rim is the most difficult minefield TP has to deal with in the league.

5. The Spurs by design allow opposing bigs to shoot ~18 footers at will. It's the one area they basically forfeit in their defensive scheme. Unfortunately, Ibaka and Collison (and even freakin' Perkins last playoffs) can hit that shot all day now.

6. When it comes down to it, the Spurs really don't have an ace perimeter defender to throw at Durant. Parker does great on Westbrook but the Spurs don't have a SG/SF who is even routinely above average.

7. A lot of San Antonio's defensive philosophy revolves around the Spurs not fouling in order to keep the opponent off the line. For whatever reasons, that strategy doesn't work against OKC. No matter what the Spurs do, the Thunder will get to the like 25-35 times per game.

Oh, and the chances of the Spurs even making it to the Thunder 100% healthy are pretty long. The Thunder literally never suffer an injury while the Spurs deal with a new injury every couple days.

The Thunder are just a bad matchup for the Spurs. What sucks is that the Spurs actually matchup pretty damn well against the Heat. San Antonio is great at neutralizing drivers (like LeBron and Wade) plus the Heat aren't nearly as athletic as the Thunder (the Spurs might actually be more athletic due to the number of washed up scrubs on Miami's roster).

I wouldn't be surprised if all things equal:

Spurs > Heat

Thunder > Spurs

Heat > Thunder

... which of course would lead to the Heat winning the championship again.

To Dex and TrainOfThought5That's assuming you all get there to the WCF. You guys might just be the number one seed again, which means you'll leave us to likely face the Clips in the semi's. Reason why I say you all might be #1 seed is because you all will have a favorable schedule down the road leading into the month of April. If Pop can manage to rest yalls main guys like last year, you guys should be in good shape. If Memphis consistently remains at the 4-5 spot, you'll have them as your opponent in all likelihood. Earlier in the season I, like almost everyone, bought into the Clipper hype. Silly of me to do that, for reasons already mentioned by Clipper Nation of all people. If we are the 2nd seed, we'll likely get last the first two rounds again and face you all or Memphis. If you guys can beat Memphis, and I'll be rooting for you all in that scenario, we'll get an epic rematch of epic proportions. This time around, some of our main pieces have matured and gotten better but the Harden factor will come back to bite us in the ass some. He was our x-factor in last years series. Ill be holding out my confidence for K-Mart until he produces in the postseason.

thats what i was trying not to post, tbh. its funny OKC is damn near unbeatable on a fucking VIDEO GAME when u play with the spurs. shit is just tragic. the REAL hope is that the Clipshow can somehow beat em, and we beat them fake contending clippers. the jury is still out on the impact of losing Harden. but i can see now that Westbrooks questionable decision making has been magnified, and will be even moreso in the playoffs.
