Basketball Reference just added final averages for years 1950-2012.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/playoffs/NBA_2000_finals.html
Shaq 38/16.7/2.3 on 61%
Kobe 15.6/4.6/4.2 on 37%

http://www.basketball-reference.com/playoffs/NBA_2001_finals.html
Shaq 33/15.8/4.8 on 57%
Kobe 24.6/7.8/5.8 on 41%

http://www.basketball-reference.com/playoffs/NBA_2002_finals.html
Shaq 36.3/12.3/3.8 on on 60%
Kobe 26.8/5.8/5.3 on 51%

http://www.basketball-reference.com/playoffs/NBA_2009_finals.html
Gasol 18.3/9.2/2.2 on 60%
Kobe 32.3/5.6/7.4 on 43%

http://www.basketball-reference.com/playoffs/NBA_2010_finals.html
Gasol 18.6/11.6/3.7 on 48%
Kobe 28.6/8/3.9 on 40%

Kobe has had one good non-chucking finals series and even that was on the coat-tails of Shaq. I give Kobe credit for 1 ship, 2 if I'm feeling generous.

But his best series was the year that the Kings got fucked over by the refs in the WCF, so that isn't legitimate either, tbh.... :lol Kirby

but...but...but ..... points per game!!!

oh and ESPN told me to ignore the fact that he couldn't get out of the first round without Shaq and without Gasol! ignore it! he sells a lot of jerseys and shoes in China. ignore it! Americans are stupid and will buy into any hype agenda that we feed them!

2010 might be the worst performance ever by a "superstar" on a finals-winning team tbh. Never breaking 50% in any game of the finals despite averaging 23+ FGA/game. Not to mention the worst closeout performance in modern history.

10/22 - 45%
8/20 - 40%
10/29 - 34%
10/22 - 45%
13/27 - 48%
9/19 - 47%
6/24 - 25%

Is Kobe the most fortunate superstars in the NBA?

In lights of recent findings, should Kobe be even considered one of the top 15 greatest NBA players of all times?

Everybody and their mom knows Kobe dominated the spurs and other western teams during the 3peat years, on LAL's road to the Finals. Then, a prime Shaq shined in the Finals playing against eastern conference no name bigs.

Every contender had an elite wing defender, the Spurs were late to add Bowen in 2002. The Spurs were one of the few teams able to contain Shaq, but that was the anomaly, not the rule. Portland had good bigs in 2000 too, but they ruined the team chemistry when they added Vin Baker.

Kobe just wasn't good enough facing elite defensive players. Shaq would still produce, even vs Robinson and Duncan, he was the Lakers best player. And its not even close.

Since the Bin Harden acquisition, rocketfan started to show interest in Kobe's performances... how adorable :lol

And the answer to your question is no, Harden is not better than Kobe.

The Shaq rings don't count. That's been well established for some time now. I think we need to go further and not only say those two post-Shaq rings get an asterisk, but disqualify all his stats since 2004. Without those three rings (which we already know DO NOT count) Kobe's standing in that Colorado court room not as 3 time NBA champion Kobe Bryant, but as Kobe Bryant, black guy who raped a white lady. You think he would have beaten that rap then? Of course not. So none of the things he has accomplished as a free man in the time since that brush with the law should count. I really kind of feel bad that chucked away those games last spring when he still had a quality front line to protect his aura as a winner, but for the sake of the legitimacy of the game we need to move him back down the all time scoring list to reflect the time he likely would be spending behind bars at this time without Shaq's rings.

But the fact that the rest of your takes are so shitty proves that you were actually being serious and now are trying to play it off as a joke to alleviate embarrassment, tbh...

Still averaged 10 ppg in the 4th quarter. Kobe was nowhere to be found, hiding behind Gasol and Fisher as usual.

He has as many rings as Derek Fisher, though Fish has one more Finals appearance.

:lol Kobe

Laker fans are just delusional tbh..
I mean the fact he played for the lakers is the only reason he won even one championship. He stays with the hornets or any other small market, he doesnt get his bigs. Just like he showed in the seasons where was they lakers main guy, they would struggle to even make the playoffs.
LOL kobrick.

efficient truth bomb.

i'm always amazed at how underrated Pau is to Rapistfans. The catalyst who caused your team to go the finals 3 times in a row, the same Pau who beasted in the Olympics against the best. Funny how bigs get burned out playing in LA and want to leave after a few years. if not for that joke of a trade, Kirby would never sniff another WCF again.

He has as many championships as Robison had before Duncan arrived...0. Dude missed playoffs and couldn't even get out of the first round. At least David never missed the playoffs (minus year he was hurt) and got a bunch of freaking scrub players to the WCF.

& Robinson showed he could score if shot he every time too by putting up 71.

:lol Laker fan loves to pile on Drob.

the 2 seasons after shaq trade where kobe was fodder

htf does his fans say those are his peak years? kobe never peaked, he is a volume shooter....where his stats misleads the stat lovers...

who cares about scoring records and shit, he was basically a one man team putting up +20 shots a night....if he didnt score alot of those amount of volume shot attempts, haters would be calling him out like i am..

the only difference between him and tmac, he didnt gloat being up 3-1 and heading into the next round.....

I'd say he should have 7 by now. If Karl Malone was healthy in 2004 and the refs called it fair or Bynum and Ariza was healthy in 2008 against the Celtics. Kobe would have 7 championships right now. Thats more rings than the whole starting line up of the 2012 NBA Champs combined. Impressive Tbh.

The Lakeshow didn't get as many calls in 08. "Fair", by Lakers standards, is LA gaining only a decent advantage in FT disparity.

01-27-2013, 02:07 PM
What's his name. Then Second year backup forward,Leon Powe had more FTA than the whole Lakers team in Game 2. It was clear Stern wants Boston to win its title after a 2 decade drought. Lakers were playing 5 on 8.

That being said. Kobe should have 6. Enough to tie Jordan in the rings category.
