per Woj:

@WojYahooNBA (https://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA) Celtics rookie Jared Sullinger will miss the rest of the season with a back injury, league sources tell Y! Sports. He will need surgery.

What a bummer. He was playing awesome for them.

Best of luck to him.

that's what happens when you don't listen to medical red flags when drafting.

Undersized big man with impressive early production on offense and a fatal medical flaw that inevitably catches up to him. Spurs fans are familiar with that storyline.

Wow, looked like Celtics had a steal. Guess not. Score one for the doctors, tbh.

Yeah, atleast the Spurs got Blair in the 2nd round. Back problem is chronic & recurring, right ?

I think the general thinking is that once you have back problems, you'll always have back problems.

At least the Spurs got 3.5 years of production before Blair's knees got to him. He was worth his second-round pick many times over. Boston is probably going to pay him two more years (I imagine they'll pick up his option). I hope he can come back.

As Juggity said, Blair 2.0 tbh

I feel your misery bro, though i must say, the minute Allen decided to bolt into south beach, your team should have blown it up & start rebuilding IMHO, for everybody best interest. :(

Can't really compare him to Blair considering Blair relied on his athleticism, it was inevitable he got injured, though.

it'll trigger them to finally push the rebuilding button tbh

They were both going to have inevitably short careers. That's what people are comparing.

Well most teams did, that is why he fell to the Celts. I would say at the spot they took him he was worth the risk. He was considered a top 5 pick before the medical concerns.

Fuck the celts ...but feel bad I have seen games of his since college.

well, they passed on perry jones (supposedly a tweener) to take the 2inches shorter pf with huge injury red flag just because he's fatter? That decision doesn't make any sense to me, tbh.. also, they passed on Moultrie, a 6-11 pf.. smh

Both these guys are not exactly setting the world on fire. For a team in "win now" mode like the Celtics, it's hard to say that Sullinger was a bad choice.

that implies using rookies to win now, and it's pretty sad if the celtics drafted that way tbh..

Im guessing fab melo gets some burn now? I mean shit, what do they have 6 players left?

Exactly what I thought...I remember all the concerns about him and PJ3 during the draft...
Still, what a shame.

Sully was doing fine in a backup role as a rookie, and even had a few games as starter. Fab Melo was our "project" pick.

Back injuries suck. Celts pick was a gamble time will tell. I hope to see a lot more melo. I'm intrigued to know what we got with that dude... I fear he is a softy but let's hope the best. This celtics season sucks, time to rebuild
