NFL has rules to protect players heads, NBA should put in rules on how to get off the ground to avoid unnecessary shit like what just happened.

He was walking on his own in the tunnel. Surely he couldn't do that if it was ACL?

Tim Duncan (knee) was helped off the court on Saturday after Emeka Okafor rolled over his left knee.
The injury looked very ugly, but Timmy was able to put some weight on the leg and he was even limping without assistance in the tunnel.

"Hey," I told him, "people are reporting you have a torn ACL."
"Who said that?" Rondo responded. "A torn ACL? I don't even have the results yet. I'm going to see the doc right now."
As he ambled toward the locker room, he asked, "Could I be walking around like this with a torn ACL?"
"Yes," I answered. "Guys have played with torn ACLs before."

They didn't need to play Duncan tonight but I don't really fault Pop for it. TD was out of action for nearly two weeks so it makes sense to fit a game in somewhere. Just bad luck, I guess. Wish this shit happened to someone that deserved it though, like that piece of garbage Dwight.

Time for Stern to find a replacement for the All Star game. We've got such a cake walk of a schedule coming up with so much time for rest, that this could be best case scenario (not that you ever want anythign like this to happen). It'll give Baynes a chance to be thrown in the fire, chance to step up and get into the rotation really quickly.
I would hope he would be back by mid-March, tbh

Sweet. Not sure I've ever been called that before.
It sounds bad because frequently, the initial diagnosis of a ligament tear in the knee is a "sprain." Calling it a sprain doesn't mean that there are no tears.

Hopefully nothing's torn, but a double sprain is going to be a stiff rehab challenge. Will it derail TD's miraculous turn-back-the-clock season? I find it hard to imagine that after rehabbing from a double sprain, that TD would be as good as he was prior to tonight.
But Tim does surprise.
Still can't get over how stupid it was to play him in this meaningless garbage game.

That's irrelevant. We're in Tim's last days and that time is being wasted/shortened because some asshole clown who doesn't deserve to share the court with Tim accidentally rolls into Tim's leg because he has to be an over-animated fucktard whenever he hits the deck.

Also TD could've used this as a glorified practice session. Then Baynes most likely would've been back in time for Minnesota. If Duncan doesn't get injured I don't think any of us have a problem with Pop's decision here.

Also TD could've used this as a glorified practice session. Then Baynes most likely would've been back in time for Minnesota. If Duncan doesn't get injured I don't think any of us have a problem with Pop's decision here.
Let's just hope it's not serious.
I was hoping he'd sit out through at least this game. I'd have been okay if he'd missed the RRT.

I wish that Pop wouldn't wait until the score gets so close to put people back in when the team needs it... the other team gets momentum and confidence and it is hard to turn it around.

It's obvious that Pop was hoping that the bench could maintain that big lead. At any rate, we lost momentum and it may not be possible to regain it.
Maybe Pop doesn't really care about winning this one.

Well I was right, Pop was wrong. I won't say anymore because I am getting angrier by the minute. Baynes could have had plenty of minutes tonight. It's not like the Spurs were playing a playoff team. This was a great chance for Pop to get Baynes more legit NBA minutes.
I thought the same thing, but one thing has nothing to do with the other. If the Spurs can't beat the Wizards without Duncan, then Baynes isn't going to help.

Sean gets on my nerves. He's bitching about how the Spurs role players are consider the game over, and he called it over in the 1st quarter. He does that shit all the time. Sure he has no control over the outcome, but his mentality reflects the common role player mentality. I don't like it when homer announcers dismiss the competition before the game has even got going good.

They actually were very complimentary of the Spurs and Duncan all telecast calling them the model franchise and Duncan everything you would ever want out of a teammate and superstar.
As a doc my prediction is 3 weeks, the ankle's effects might last as long as the knee as far as signs and symptoms if both just sprains.
