Marion wasn't part of that ring team back in 2011.

Sitting your fat ass on the bench injured doesn't count. :lol

srsly, what's up with the Mavs?

They have more talent than say, the Jazz... and this is a team that has some pieces that shined during a 'ship run... obviously Dirk isn't the same right now, but is that all there is?

Has Carslile lost the locker room?

one year contracts is a shitty way to build locker-room harmony. Cant blame Rick, that is on Cubes and Donnie ...

I dont care what anyone says a WCF run in 2012 was possible if they kept at least Tyson ...sure Dirk sucked in the regular season but I think he would of been a tough out in the playoffs ...

my memory also serves me bad sometimes when it comes to those old games where my team wasn't involved. i only remember that series so intricately because the heat was playing tbh

This Dallas team can't defend tbh. When you try to have a center-by-committee of guys like Bernard James (rookie), Elton Brand (too short), Brandan Wright (too thin), and Chris Kaman (no D at all), you can't really cover for liabilities like _irk.

why is everyone shocked? No Tyson, no Kidd, no Barea

it's common sense the mavs are a shell of that team. I thought Cuban was rebuilding tbh

Trade Marion, Carter and Kaman to a playoff team - see what you can get back in terms of expirings, draft picks, young players.
Take the top 14 pick instead of trying to make a push for the playoffs
Don't use your cap space this summer just because you have it - the Pistons signed Ben Gordon and Charlie V and ended up regretting it.

Really the only guys I want to see back next year are Dirk, Mayo, Collision ( he's a rotation player at worst and not completely worth giving up on as a starting PG), and Bernard James.

The difference between the Mavs and Spurs is that the Spurs have drafted well despite always having only late 20's picks in the first round. The Mavs haven't had a draft pick pan out since Josh Howard and it's catching up to them.

Not to mention they do a shitty job of developing them once they're drafted. Carlisle's treatment of Beaubois and then signing the corpse of Mike James instead of giving Cunningham a chance when they're obviously rebuilding.

This team isn't making the playoffs so I don't understand giving minutes to a guy like Mike James over playing youngsters. I'd actually like them to tank the rest of the season so we can get a top 10 pick. That's more valuable than somehow sneaking in as an 8 seed to get curbstomped by OKC, San Antonio or the Clippers.
