Do you replace your mattress every 8 years? Right now we have a Tempur-Pedic, best bed we ever had. Hubby now wants a Sleep Number.

My kids all have Tempur-pedic and they are great! When we went to replace ours last year we were determined to get one of those or the Sleep Number. Tried them both but I just didn't care for either compared to a top of the line regular mattress. Also I don't know how much effect there has been so far, but they told us the Sleep Number sales are way down and that they couldn't guarantee how much longer they'd be in business and that could make replacement parts hard to come by in a few years.

Yeah, I'm not even sure the 8-year rule would apply to memory foam mattresses.

I'm more concerned that Judyn doesn't understand what the Sleep Number bed does.

It numbers how many sleeps you get.

i'd rather sleep right on the floor most times tbh. a soft mattress ain't good stuff for the health of your spine, sleeping on the floor keeps my back in good shape while im sleeping

I do.

How do I find my Sleep NumberŪ setting?

1. READY
Lie on your Sleep NumberŪ bed in your favorite sleeping position and adjust your pillow to your liking. Using your remote, change your Sleep NumberŪ setting to 100 (firmest), and then down to 20 (very soft).

2. SET
Now, set your Sleep NumberŪ setting back to 100. As the mattress gets firmer, how do your neck, shoulders, hips and back feel? When you feel
comfortably supported, stop. Make adjustments up or down, by no more than 5.

3. SLEEP
Try sleeping at this setting for the night. The next morning, if you need to make an adjustment, change your number by no more than 5.
Use this setting for at least 3 or 4 nights.

Give your body a little time to adjust. Before you know it, you’ll be enjoying all the benefits of a better night’s sleep on your new Sleep NumberŪ bed.

The "eight year rule" is crap made up by one place to try and get people to buy mattresses more often. There is no basis for it in fact.
