ESPN 150 running back Alex Collins (http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/145301/alex-collins) still has not signed his letter of intent with Arkansas, and for good reason. According to two sources familiar with the situation, his mother showed up Wednesday at South Plantation High School, confiscated the documents and left.

Andrea McDonald fled with the paperwork because she doesn't want Collins to leave home, the sources said. Collins is 18 and does not need a parent or guardian to co-sign his letter of intent.

So the dumb bitch went and hired an attorney from Johnny Cochrane's firm (WTF?), but the kid did an end run and got his dad to sign the LOI. That must have been some bribe she got from whatever school it was to pull stupid shit like this.

Alex Collins and his father have both signed the national letter of intent to join the Razorbacks, while his mother, Andrea McDonald, has hired a lawyer from Johnnie Cochran’s firm, reports the Miami Herald News (http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/02/07/3221997/alex-collins-family-hires-lawyer.html):

The mother of South Plantation High running back Alex Collins has hired an attorney with the Cochran firm to represent the family “while she contemplates on signing the NCAA’s Letter of Intent” that will decide where her son plays football in college.
The firm, founded by O.J. Simpson lawyer Johnnie L. Cochran, made the announcement Thursday.

McDonald was opposed to her son going to Arkansas, preferring instead that he attend the University of Miami. Collins was not present at the commitment ceremony at his school, South Plantation High, and it was reported (http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/02/06/four-star-rb-reportedly-wavering-on-commitment-to-arkansas/) that his mother had confiscated the letter of intent. It appears that Collins was also unaware his mother had plans of seeking legal guidance.
