i'm pretty sure every single defender in the NBA goes after the weak spots. when ginobili's nose was broken in the playoffs a couple of years ago, defenders would go after his face, making it look like incidental contact. if you are injured and are in a lot of pain, players will take advantage of that. they'll make contact with that area as much as possible. refs protect the players from obvious fouls but they can't say the shoulder is off limits. if you can't take the pain, you shouldn't be playing.

Ginobili is a flopper. I won't argue that for one second. But players also always get their shots in on ginobili too. He takes intentional hits to his face all the time.
