I think there are teams that want him but they know about his knee and are probably using it to offer nothing for him.

There's not really anything to know about his knee, tbh.

We haven't seen this kind of aggression from Leonard. I doubt this is a one-off, he seems capable. Have the Spurs been under-utilizing him?

The team obviously gave him the green light on O when Tim and Manu went out. He's been doing this for a while now.

Pop's player development alchemy tbh. Treats a player like Kawhi like a young race horse. Holds him back in the beginning, and lets him loose for the stretch. Not the only way to do it, but it's Pops way.

Indeed. Pop's greatest attribute is how he gets the best out of his pupils and really works with the rest of his coaching staff to get his players to reach their fullest ceiling. Case in point - TP. Case in point - George Hill and now Kawhi.

One of the best wins of the season. Kawhi laying one more step in his quest for superstar status before the age of 25. Splitter showing yet again that he is a fourth quarter beast. Green, Diaw, De Colo and Neal doing their mite. Bonner sucking per usual when facing adding pressure and not having regular starters on the court (-13 in the +/-). and Blair shown up to be washed up.

Well I was honestly ready to chalk up that game as a loss before it even started. NDC looked like a legitimate PG, and Kawhi looked like a legitimate star.

Spurs proving true the common trash talk "Our bench would be your team's starters!"

I've now seen not only the post-Duncan Spurs, but the post-Parker and post-Manu. And they still look like a really good team.

Speaking of Duncan, how many games of rest does he have now? Him and Pop have to just be milking it at this point, "Eh, they're doing good without me, I'll just chill here." Robert Horry would be jealous.

Kawhi, magnificent game from him. De Colo was very solid too. Key to the game was benching Neal in the 4th quarter. He seriously could have cost us the game with his chucking. Neal is still a very good shooter, and I am not sure that I would want to trade him. I am darn sure about reigning in his shot selection though, and him not playing backup PG for more than sparse spot minutes.

Tiago, Danny and Boris were good too.

Bonner, pathetic as usual on the boards. Rebounding needs to improve from all the bigs that played tonight. Unacceptable for all the bigs to be that mediocre at rebounding the ball. Kawhi could have done a bit better on the boards too.

I was going to bring this up a few days ago when people were saying that Kawhi should be playing 40 minutes a night.

A couple of weeks ago Kawhi said that it is isn't as bad as the start of the season, but it is still bothering him a bit, so it hasn't completely gone away with that time he took off. I was going to bring it up a few days ago, as I thought that is the reason that he is not playing 35+ minutes a night, and now he has pretty much confirmed it.

Hopefully, it is not too bad, but I was hoping it was getting better and better. How bad did he say it was HI-FI?

you know Kawhi, he isn't going to give a eloquent description of it. IIRC, he said "Yeah my knee still hurts, but in this league you gotta play through pain, especially at this point in the season."

I really really hope it can heal or at least be maintained. Tonight was the night I was hoping for, and I don't want this guy sidelined at all.

Man the knee injury is very concerning tbh given how long he was out earlier in the season, hopefully they are extra careful about it, but if they're gonna rest Danny fucking Green when he's simply tired, you gotta think that in this case there's not much risk and it's more superficial than anything.

I hope Pop shapes his trajectory to ensure that happens while Duncan is still on the team. After nights like this, I honestly expect Pop to work it so Kawhi is put in a position to break out this post season. Whether he's able to is a question to be answered, but I'll be shocked and fucking pissed if Kawhi is still a corner three guy by this year's playoffs.

Whether he's able to is a question to be answered, but I'll be shocked and fucking pissed if Kawhi is still a corner three guy by this year's playoffs.

I'd love to see Kawhi be explosive and contribute even more than he already does in the post-season.
I have full faith that he can be do what you're expecting of him in the regular and post-season. It's all a matter of them giving him the ball now(instead of just setting him up for the 3). With Duncan on the court, Kawhi hasn't really been able to test out all the moves he wants. Now he can do that, the team will see what he is able to do.

Hopefully, they'll let Kawhi adapt to where he can play like this while Duncan and Manu are healthy. I'll probably be a little upset as well, if he is still be jammed in the corner. I'll be happy if he is hitting his shots, though.

Spurs are just handling business as they done last decade. Be intresting if they have gas when post season rolls around.
