Does anyone know any decent tree trimmers in San Antonio that don't cost a fortune?

Our backyard looks like this...

Basically we just need the trees cut back that are by the basketball court, plus a few other things.

Leave a reply here or PM me if you know anyone.

Thanks!

Hi..Kori...it's been a long time...I actually do know someone that does business in SA...he actually trims tree's, cuts them down, and mulches them into the ground amongst other things...has his own company and has done business in SA for the past 12 yrs...here's a link to his demo with web address showing how he does things...we joke sometimes but I think the guy hates trees since he been cutting them down so long...

Your trees actually don't look bad. At least you don't have any low-lying limbs. You might just use a weed wacker or remove that one stump. Other than that, looks really good to me. Believe me, I have seen MUCH MUCH worse. This is actually a nice looking back yard.

Just make sure (demand to see) that they have a real arborist on board & that the arborist is the one who has looked at your trees and made the recommendation. Any Bubba with a chainsaw, ladder, & truck can claim to be a tree trimmer but trees (especially oaks in San Antonio) are too valuable to be left in the care of idiots who don't know what they're doing - or worse, idiots who don't know that they don't know what they're doing.

A couple reputable companies I've used before:
Bartlett Tree Experts http://www.bartlett.com/index.cfm
Davey Tree http://www.davey.com/

Thanks. The trees near the basketball court have a lot of low-lying limbs. So that's what we are need to get trimmed back. Most of the trees in the yard are pretty good (we have two acres, so some of them are in much better shape than others).

These guys are good as well...I know their arborist and he knows his stuff.

A three man experienced tree monkey crew with chipper and all necessary tools, ladders, pruning spray, etc. is gonna run you about $1100 a day but you will be amazed how much they can get done. The way I use them is to keep the monkeys cutting and use other labor to cut up firewood once it's on the ground and deal with cut limbs.

I second this. I had a beautiful cedar tree on my lot. It was one of the reasons that I chose it. My neighbor sold his house, and one day while I was gone, the new neighbor had some idiot with a chainsaw cutting everything in sight. He killed my tree. :( I had an arborist try to save it, but he could not.

Get an 18" electric chainsaw from Sears for $99 and make Larry earn his bed and board.
