Golden state is unveiling a short sleeve jersey against the Spurs on Feb 12. I wonder how a Spurs jersey would look like. Maybe somebody can photoshop a rendition. Thoughts?

Thoughts? Fail. Fans won't buy them because almost no fans are built like that.

I could only see the young players on our team possibly wearing those ha. Now how comfortable are they, will they affect a player's shooting percentage negatively?

I would definitely wear a Spurs one. I have other compression short sleeved shirts that I wear to the gym and would love a Spurs one.

So the Warriors have male cheerleaders now? That's the cheerleader outfit, right?

I saw a blurb on these earlier but didn't see pics. They've been wearing them in college ball (thought I was going crazy when I saw them at first) - but this is no different than any of the players that already wear compression shirts already. I can see these being popular because they breath a lot better than regular jerseys.

I'd buy a Spurs one if it wasn't like the grey alt jersey.

It seems like they would get hot, no ventilation. Say you play an overtime game this could cause fatigue and possibly cost you a game. There is a reason for the design of the current uniforms.

Adidas, the uniform-provider of the NBA, says the jerseys feature "the first-ever super lightweight stretch woven short with maximum ventilation for player comfort. The jersey includes armhole insets with 360-degree stretch fabric that facilitates free range of motion for the arms and shoulders."

Adidas hopes to unveil similar short-sleeve jerseys for other NBA teams next season.

Not a fan of the sleeves. But more importantly, wtf is up with the mustard-colored pinstriped shorts?

Exactly, what happened is that some savvy sales person came up to the GS front office and gave them a great presentation. They fell for it and now we'll see the results. I'm surprised the NBA League office approved these. They are very strict when it comes to alterations of the uniform code. I remember when Kobe Bryant was wearing those long stockings under his shorts and he was told to stop.

That uniform overall is crazy ugly. Wtf were they thinking?? It looks pretty cool when they wear the sleeves under the jersey but its doesn't look right like that.

Nawh I don't like it. If the players can wear it and I can't, I don't want it. I can't squeeze my 582 LB bod into that. I would think, the sight of me in one wouldn't be to pleasant to the public.http://iamthelife.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/big-fat-guy.jpg?w=655

NBA/Adidas isn't interested on how players look with these jerseys. They are interested in how many of these they will sell. The classic sleeveless basketball jersey isn't that easy to wear outside of games (even over a t-shirt). These short sleeve jersey are more suited to be worn by fans in their daily life.

According to ST, not these fans.

most fans wear a T-Shirt under their jerseys anyway because of obvious physical limitations, don't they?

With the intent to put advertisement on jersey's this actually gives them more surface area to put more logos. I hate seeing corporate logos on jerseys but that could be behind the sleeved version.

As far as SA fans having more surface area in general underneath the shirt - well, it's a stretch fabric...

As a fan I would wear it, but for the game it's really not needed.

I think they'll look better in black and silver than in mustard, and I would probably buy a Spurs version. For casual wear, though, I would definitely want a looser cut. I have running shirts with a similar cut, but I save the compression wear for training and racing. And for that I'd actually like a long-sleeve version. There's not much reason for running shirts--or basketball shirts--with sleeves. If it's cool enough for sleeves, I want long sleeves.

Wrong. Fans will most definitely buy them, and that's why this new jersey exists. Women especially will be more comfortable wearing a jersey which isn't sleeveless and doesn't need an undershirt (which looks odd anyway). If it hides the fat rolls of the obese, you better believe it will sell.

For basketball players...I have no idea. For runners, it eliminates nipple chafing on long runs. :p: For me, it's pretty much a winter thing, though. I have some really warm compression base layers that I love. In the summer, though, there's not much point; I just run shirtless. But that isn't suitable for everyone. :wow
