Could shake up the 2013 NBA draft pretty significantly.

He was carried back to the locker room screaming after coming down awkwardly on his left knee

With the first overall pick, the Orlando Magic select Cody Zeller, from Indiana...

Career may be over before it started.

Saw it as it happened. Not good for the bottom-feeders of the league that are vying for that #1 pick.

The NCAA has to move back the basket supports before someone gets killed. The kid on Butler almost dislocated his brain a couple weeks back in a similar play. I know the NCAA doesn't care much about their modern day slave laborers but the least they can do is make it safe, tbh.

So even our Evil Overlord Stern looks like sunshine and rainbows compared to the NCAA?

:cry but we're an AMATEUR athletics association
:cry but we don't recruit tall black kids as an NBA feeder program

Not good at all; I think Noel lost a year to a knee injury in high school too. Sucks, as he is one of the best young shotblockers that I have ever seen.

Wasn't he on pace to break Anthony Davis' shotblocking record?

God this draft is really going to be pathetic now.

Never that good to begin with. I see a guy like Oladipo making a jump on the draft boards though, the kid has been shooting lights out

Nah, Davis averaged 4.65 blocks a game while Noel has 4.5.

He's young but his offensive game was horrible. Hopefully he can develop it

No, they're at opposite ends of evil in the spectrum.

Stern will do anything to protect his stars because they're his money maker. This includes ref protection/sacrificing the level playing field.

The NCAA doesn't give a fuck, because they make as much from upsets as they do from big teams winning it, and they generate massive March Madness profits regardless of who's playing. Plus the longest they can make money off one of their players is 4 years, so they really don't care if one or two ruin their career.

You could draft be@ners from this thread and it would still have more talent than 2000. I'd be shocked if we ever see another draft that horrible. Amazing that even with hindsight about how much Kenyon Martin sucks he would still be the right guy to pick #1.

Looks like Nerlens is going to be staying in school a little while longer. Tough break for the kid.

Unless he tore meniscus he'll probably still go top 7. Not like there's that much out there that's better than taking a chance on a defender like him.

Serious meniscus or patella tendon injury will drop him out of the lotto. Rumor is that he has a ruptured patella tendon (serious 50/50 career ending injury)

Portland will draft him with first or 2nd pick over Muhammad tbh ... Need another big ..besides they have batum and Matthews and genius posters will defend the third coming of David Robinson (defensively) 2nd coming of Oden as a smart pick ...since he is a "big" ...lol

If this injury is actually 50/50 he is getting drafted...I mean...someone is going to do it...late but its happening.
Very sad.
I didnt even watch the video...I usually never do with injuries...

i might be wrong but if i remember correct, portland already had aldridge on their roster for a year who had proven himself a quality big in his rookie season but still made up their mind to draft oden instead of durant on the draft night. it was obvious they didn't need a big more than a SF when they picked oden over durant tbh

shit might be career-ending by 0.500 chance but dude's still a 1st round lock imho. it's gonna deter teams who have lottery picks but it'll be worth the gamble if you have a mid-late first round pick, you can't expect every late 1st round draft to turn out to be another josh howard or tony parker. another example, batum had heart issues preceding the draft but still managed to get selected in the first round

He`d be a great reward for anyone picking him up with mid 1st round pick. Obviously he isnt staying in Kentucky, no one ever is.
