Yes we needed one.

My question for my fellow spurs fans is what are the players you would trade Parker for ?
no fillers, no salary match stuff... Just straight one for one right now.

besides the obvious Lebron, Durant, who do you get ?

Some names out of my head:

unibrow ?
irving ?
rose ?
howard ?
aldridge ?
Monroe ?
griffin ?
harden ?
cp 3 ?

Nicolas Batum, Rudy Fernadez and we'll go ahead and throw in Bonner and JV.

Only guy I'd trade for TP apart from James and Durant would be Paul. Duh.

I'll take Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson, and Greivis Vasquez for TP & spares, not sure if the Pelicans would accept that.

This is a joke thread, right ? :D

No Dwyane Wade?

Why on earth would we trade a 30 year old who's game is reliant on speed/athleticism (Parker) for a 31 year old who's game is reliant on speed/athleticism (Wade)?

I'd do it for Kyrie or Harden tbh.

R.C.'s buyin' rounds for the state of Texas if the Cavs offered Irving for Parker straight up tbh.

Straight up? Lebron Durant or Rose... anyone else is either not as good/lateral movement by factor of not knowing the system, and/or too old

Yep. Can't argue with either of those. Lillard interesting too.

Kyrie no doubt about it, but Cavs won't do it.

Exactly. Have to sweeten the deal with Bonner or Blair. :p:

I disagree somewhat, Parker's game relies more on quickness than pure speed, although he has plenty of both. Not even considering the fact that point guards generally have longer shelf lives than shooting guards, Parker will stay effective at his respective position far longer than Wade for that reason alone.

I wouldn't trade Parker for Rose. Rose's game relies almost exclusively on athleticism, and the guy is practically in Oden's class of injury proneness. I see Rose's career following a similar path to Stevie Franchise.

If James White kills it in the dunk contest, well obv him. If not, then, Scola straight up.

Other than Lebron or KD, it'd be Kyrie or Anthony Davis.

TP for Kyrie

But the Cavs would be crazy to do that

Here we can barely think of 5-6 players we'd unanimously trade TP for outside of Bron/Durant... and Charles Barkley didn't think TP should have been an all-star :lmao

but on that note... what about Steph Curry? he's not 25 yet, already among the elite point guards, and like Nash, his game doesn't really rely on athleticism/speed

I don't know that I'd even accept Chris Paul at this point. I'm not saying I think TP is the better PG, b/c at this point Paul is the best in the game. But Parker knows this system so well already and that increases his value on THIS team so much.

I could live with Parker traded for Irving

Stephen Curry is not an elite point guard just yet. He's a guy who just had half of a very good season. At the same age Tony was a 2x All-Star, 2x champion and on his way to a 3rd ring and a Finals MVP...

Interesting to see so many people agreeing on a PG prospect. Most GMs would rather bet on a young, promising big.

The best move for the Spurs would be to get a truly dominant big man, but there's none in the league right now. So Lebron or Durant it is...

No Dwyane Wade?

TP is much more durable than Wade. And when he falls (which he does a lot of), he falls the right way.

Outside Lebron Durant, in terms of guards I'd go with guys like Harden, CP3 or Irving but my preference would be for a young promising big: Davis of course but I also would be intrigued by a guy like Monroe.

At this point nobody would take Howard for Parker ?

A 6 months rental Howard, of course no

But a Howard signed on a long terme contract? If you think he will be healthy next year and that he will respect pop's coaching then yes

Nobody is giving up a young, promising big for TP. The closest I can think to possible would be DeAndre Jordan, and only because they already have Griffin.

I guess you missed the point of the thread. I don't look at would be possible. Of course nobody is giving up a young promising big for TP but hypothetically which of these young promising big you would trade TP for.

The only one I can think of I would not trade him for is McGee because he's one dumb motherfucker.

You have to make it somewhat realistic though, otherwise the answer is Lebron every time.

EDIT: Missed the Lebron, Durant exclusions. Make that Griffin every time.

I was more interested by a list of guys. Right now for instance you would trade him for De Andre ? I wouldn't

TP for Irving is really only based on future potential...
