Hmmm.......... I think Bush's are party good. Chilis are a bit different, more of a light honey based breading. Good too though. I have not tried Raising Canes yet. :depressed

Bill Miller food is OK, their only problem is that they dont cook the meats long enough. The sausage is like 60% done. Still a lil chewy. Same with the scrips, the breading isnt exactly golden brown with a bit of a crunch.

It is at the one by my house. I'll get an order for the kids every now and then and I break it up for them. Seems real crunchy to me.

the chicken strips themselves at raising canes are not anything special at all. Its the sauce that is good. I, however, don't find their sauce to be "lose my mind" good like everyone else.

Can't stand chicken strips. $5 for 4 or 5 of them and they're 60% breading? blech

I love fried chicken, but there you're actually getting some chicken in your fried flour.

I wish Florida had good regional restaurants. We have a KFC(Bleh), Bojangles(Disgusting), churchs (greasy as hell), popeyes(does anyone eat there?), and chic fil a(edible). All of the major sit down restaurants are horrible, overpriced, or both. We got the likes of Chilis(over prices taco stand), TGI fridays(not even sure what they are supposed to be other than nasty), and Outback steak house(Is it actually supposed to be good or just mediocre?). That is at least for where I live in central florida.

I hate their sauce also - pretty weak, and easily watered-down, imo.

When I lived in GA Zaxby's was the mutha fucking shit! No one touches em as far as fresh tasty strips. Now, I don't eat that much fried foods. But if Zaxby's was in SA I would be in trouble.

LOL

LOL especially how they advertise all-white meat, when breast meat is the most flavorless part of the chicken. Leg and thigh meat is so much better than breast. Whenever I cook a chicken (unless BBQ) I use the breast as meat to put in soup since it's not good enough to be more than a supporting player.

When cooked right the breast meat is delicious. But you absolutely need to keep all the bones/etc. in to keep it that way.

Maybe my statement above is hyperbole, but no way is breast ever comparable to leg and thigh meat. But yeah, especially with those shitty chicken breasts they sell at the grocery store separated from all the bone. The only thing those are useful for is if you have a really good mole poblano or something to dump all over the top to hide the blandness.

Ehh you can marinade them in beer brine for a day, sear them then cook them off heat on the grill and they retain quite a bit of juiciness and flavor. Not gonna beat a thigh or leg, but there are ways to do it.

Searing anything does absolutely nothing to keep the juice in. Debunked recently http://www.americastestkitchenfeed.com/cooking-science/2013/01/does-searing-meat-really-seal-in-its-juices/

Caine's strips are average. Their sauce is what puts them up.

The best is Chicken Express, and its not even close. Meaty, juicy, without being excessively greasy.

I'll sear bone in chicken breasts because a little char adds flavor and is aesthetically pleasing, but the juiciest chicken I've ever made is by indirect heat on the grill.

The searing is for the sear and caramelization. The off/indirect heat was to retain more moisture.
