Not much need. You're in the major leagues. The strawman you gave in response is proof of that. :lol

Also Tim played nearly his season average in minutes so I don't get what's wrong? Manu playing does not have the rebounding impact of Tim and he played plenty of minutes and Spurs still struggled tonight rebounding.

What? I was not panicking about this teams rebounding prospects long term. I said tonight. Just like when I said Tim looked bad offensively in the post. It was observational about this particular game, not down the road. Tim was fully healthy, even if he might be rusty, but he played plenty of minutes to help on the glass and rebounding was an issue tonight.

Don't see how CH making up excuses about Manu playing limited minutes has anything to do with the Spurs lack of rebounding when everyone else was healthy and playing their normal minutes?

So a 41-12 can't "steal a win" ?

The phrase "stealing a win" implies something fundamental about a team that made it unlikely they were going to win the ball game. It implies surprise at the outcome. A team like the Spurs knows how to make plays down the stretch to win ball games. A team like the Spurs can play shitty for 45 minutes, and yet keep it close and make the plays in the final minutes to pull out the win.

The phrase "stealing the win" was misapplied here, but it's not surprise because those announcers were fucking horrible.

but how 'bout Kawhi tonight. 14 points (5-10 shooting) 10 rebounds 4 blocks, a steal, and the game winning shot on the road.

Tim back to protect the paint as usual with 5 blocks in just over 25 minutes. While its true Green had a rough game (to say the least, 0-5 on three pointers), its good to see Neal on track and good to see Manu play good, efficient basketball in his limited minutes. Blair with a good audition too

You missing the point is par for the course. You brought up Manu playing as if it had significant impact on rebounding when Tim played plenty of minutes. You then ran with some random argument on the assumption that I was freaking out long term. It was an observation on this game, and I guarantee you Timvp will say the same thing and you will suck him off for it.

You are talking about rust, not health. They are fully healthy, that is why Pop brought them back today. They are rusty from sitting out. Tim still played 4 minutes less than his average and everyone but Manu played pretty normally and the struggled with rebounding. What part of that is not correct?

If the answer to that is no, then your argument is retarded. You aren't arguing about their health, you are meaning something else. But you took your shitty point and ran with it without understanding what was going on. The point was that tonight, with virtually all key people playing, Spurs struggled on the boards for a large part of the game (look at CLE's OFF REBS). It was an observation about tonight's game and not at all an indication of the future. When Timvp mentions the rebounding in his game thoughts, if I dont see you in there hounding him, I will know you truly do love Anime.

You then ran with some random argument on the assumption that I was freaking out long term. Let's get things straight. I brought up Manu because you said we were "fully healthy". Which is the most laughable fucking comment of the year. You're trying to circumvent that factor now by saying "Manu doesn't affect our rebounding". Despite the fact that he averages 4.5 boards per game, and Duncan got significantly less minutes than he normally does.

You are talking about rust, not health. They are fully healthy, that is why Pop brought them back today. They are rusty from sitting out. Tim still played 4 minutes less than his average and everyone but Manu played pretty normally and the struggled with rebounding. What part of that is not correct?

Why did Manu only play 10 minutes if they're fully healthy? This was a close game, an important win. Why did two of our big 3 play well under their season average in minutes?

If you can't read, that's your problem. Either way, you're wrong. Duncan played less minutes tonight than his average. So did Manu. Neal with it.

because Pop has already said he's paranoid about Manu's health. At this point Manu does need to play a lot more minutes to get his game back before the playoffs happen. At this point even if he got injured again we have the talent to win without him although it would be more difficult

Again, they may have been rusty, but not unhealthy. That is not the point though. You are clinging to this semantical thing like your favorite Anime cartoon will go off the air if you don't.

So if it's rust, why the fuck are you panicking about rebounding then? Your contention was that we were being outrebounded and there was no explanation for it because we're "fully healthy". Make some sense and then you'll get burned a lot less often trying to defend your ridiculous statements.

because Pop has already said he's paranoid about Manu's health. At this point Manu does need to play a lot more minutes to get his game back before the playoffs happen. At this point even if he got injured again we have the talent to win without him although it would be more difficult

So why did he play at all? Why only 10 minutes? The logical thing to do if Pop is THAT terrified of his health is to never play him until the playoffs.

You being unable to do basic 3rd grade rounding is a problem. You might want to look into it. Considering you said Duncan played "close to his average" minutes tonight, when in fact he did not. :lol

Because it was a little shot to those panicking last night about the rebounding against the Bulls with no one playing. :lol Rounding. Dude, you are really clinging to that extra 40 seconds. You are blowing up a semantical point so you can use more emoticons and it really is silly. Fact is, Spurs struggled on the glass, and Tim played 25MPG compared to his normal 29MPG and everyone but Manu played too. It was an observation about this game (which is true) and a quasi-shot to those freaking out against the Bulls.

No - your logic is poor here. You go by what Pop has done and continues to do. If he plays guys, especially the big 3, especially in the context of already sitting them out only to bring them back right before the ASB, it's because they are healthy.

That plus the fact Pop already explicitly said they were healthy too. Direct quote. That isn't the point though and it's semantics. You limit minutes because of numerous factors, but in this case they were back because they were healthy.

It's funny how it can look like a designed play, but because the offense is crisp and the spacing great, you can have it not go perfect and still end up with a great shot.

It's amazing how team's, especially young teams, will forget about everything in a situation like that and focus only on the ball, not their man. It allows for guys to move and slide into open spaces and get good looks.

I'm sure Manu begged Pop to at least get 10 mins... I'm sure Pop wasn't going to play him otherwise. Manu is a guy that takes time to re-gain conditioning the longer he stays out. It's Manu thinking he's fine and not wanting to regress conditioning-wise vs Pop being extra careful and making sure that Hammy doesn't re-aggravates.

Any ways, good to see all of the big 3 out there tonight.

Manu is treating Manu like his favorite piece of china right now. It's understandable, tbh. Manu's probably been "healthy" for the last several games, but Pop is easing him in so he doesn't strain a hammie/quad again. Those injuries are due to poor stretching habits and overexertion. So no, Manu is not in 100% NBA 6th man shape.

As for Timmy, as you pointed out earlier he's clearly not at 100%. His shot is rusty and his moves are awkward and unsure. Typical of a guy who hasn't played much in the past few weeks.

The Spurs team you saw tonight was not a team at 100%, but either way getting outrebounded by the Cavs is inexcusable. Most of that came in the first half, when the Spurs weren't bringing the necessary energy. The team locked down in the 2nd half and we won. That simple.

Timvp called it earlier today: potential trap game.

It was frustrating to see the Spurs in that position, but it's hard not to be really happy about the way they won, especially considering they didn't have to do it in OT.

Leonard getting more confident day by day. Taking the Big 3 out has done wonders for him as he has stepped up his game. Do we now have a Big 4?

Ever? No. In Preseason he's hit one. But regular season, yes.

Pop: since you won the game, you can skip out on media.
That's how Pop probably motivates Kawhi.

Kawhi has hit lots of big shots and make lots of clutch defensive plays since hes been a Spur
he made the basically gamewinning steal vs Durant in the season opener that led to Parkers shot
also had games like Philly where he gets a steal and breakaway dunk then the corner 3 to tie it
i think it was game 5 vs okc also where he hit 2 corner 3s with under a minute to go and gets a steal on thabo during the inbound

rather have Leonard shoot clutch shots over Jackson at this point tbh

It could be by design or just a result of injuries, but Kawhi's shot attempts have increased lately (11.5 in Feb). I wouldn't be upset if he avg around 15-18 attempts the rest of the season, including the playoffs.

lol at 15-18
Parker averages 15 a game
Leonard at 11-12 is good though
Manu has never shot over 13 shots a game in his career
