Any guesses? I'm thinking maybe the Heat, Pistons, or Suns. What do you all think?

You know, I was thinking that as well. With the additions the cavs can make like getting Ray Allen and with the young phenomenum Lebron, they could pull this one opening night. The defending champs vs. the star studded, revamped Cleveland. Wouldn't doubt it.

The first pre-season game maybe. Opening night is usually around Oct 31, or Nov 1.

It seems like they save Finals rematches for holiday games or am I imagining things?

I want the Spurs to play the Lakers or the Knicks.

OMG, That's 4 months away! I don't know if I can make it that long...guess I will have to buy the championship DVD to keep me going. :spin

We played Phoenix opening night 03-04 (when they sucked), so we might wind up getting a team like Chicago or Milwaukee.

But I'm personally betting on either Detroit or Houston.

I'm just hoping for some decent team...I should be in attendance. Seeing the banner raised to the rafters of the SBC and playing the Pistons in the same night would be kind of sweet.

We'd (Pistons) be happy to play ya but game 8 is on our court. :lol

(Not sure who we open up with but I have received information from a high-level league official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, that the Spurs 1st game is to be played either at home or on the road).

Knowing TNT, lakers or suns will play the second game of the doubleheader. I think they will play memphis or utah in the first game.

Im going to be different and say Portland... just because its the 'Good Guys' versus the 'Bad Guys' ...

Ideally tho, Detroit vs San An would be best, because the majority of players from the finals would be there for the banner raising... a big 'rub it in their faces and kick them while their down'

The Spurs-Pistons are destined for televised games on both ESPN and TNT, but neither will be opening night.

I hope we play a crappy team on opening night. Save all the good teams for the middle of the season.
