Good for you! I gave up sodas about a year ago, I think. I was drinking a lot, 3 or 4 big cups each day. Now I have a little coffee in the morning, an unsweetened iced tea with lunch, and water the rest of the day. You'll be surprised how much better you feel once you get all that sugar out of your blood. Your appetite will get back to normal and in just a couple weeks you won't miss the soda at all. I get a small one once in a while, if we're out, but now they are so god-awful sweet and really not as flavorful as I remember them.

I've given up soda for the most part. I still have an occasional one, but it's nowhere near as much as I used to drink (which really wasn't much to begin with, but it's even more rare now).

I haven't given up soda, but with exercising and some slight dietary changes, I've lost my craving for them. But I always crave carbonation, so I like sparkling mineral water, it's very refreshing. I like Perrier, Crystal Geyser and the HEB store brand (lime flavored) comes in cans!! You just need to be careful cuz if you are giving up sugar you don't need to replace it with sodium, and a few of the brands (San Pellegrino, Topo Chico) have a high sodium content----but still probably less than soda.

Does anyone have one of those "carbonate your own drink at home" thingy's?

Pretty easy to make a ginger beer starter - ginger, sugar, water, cheesecloth, and a mason jar.

I make my own Kombucha, started it from half a bottle of GT kombucha I bought. It took a bit of tinkering, but now I add ginger tea when I bottle and 3-5 days later it's carbonated perfectly.

fermented foods/drinks are usually pretty good for you. natural sauerkraut, kimchi. the commercially produced ones not so much.

Beer is liquid bread. It's the carbs that'll get ya.

Is wine better than beer?

I'm just waiting on Cosmic to come in here and give us his formula on flavored water. :D

Wine has a lot of sugar. That was one of the things that made me start changing my ways----a few times after drinking wine, not even a lot of it, I'd go semi-comatose! I've given it up completely now :(

Is that with regular sugar? I've noticed at my husband's house some "carbonating sugar" he uses for his homebrewing----I didn't think it was just regular sugar.

I've always called, Budweiser, chicken fried steak in a can.

The only soda I ever drink is the occasional Cane Cola we have in our fountain machine here at the office. It's good stuff.

Regular granulated sugar. Wild yeast is less picky.

I drink diet sodas. Also you should always drink 6-8 glasses of water a day no matter what. You can be depressed, irritable, etc if you don't.

I like those too, and Crystal Light. But you gotta be okay with artificial sweetener. And hopefully the sweetener doesn't do more harm to the body than sugar :lol

for real yo...you should get a SodaStream. Then just make plain carbonated water with it. From there either squirt in some real juice or a couple of drops of Mio.

I highly recommend juicing as a healthy way to get your vitamins and won't contain any artificial ingredients.

Uggg. I did this stupid Lemonade Cleanse about 8 years ago. Only thing you could have was water mixed with lemon juice and maple syrup. And you had to drink a lot of it all day long. I couldn't smell maple syrup for several years without gagging.
