I was wondering why he spent some time on the bench in the 2nd half and this explains the missing minutes and why he wasn't as effective when he came back. Deep thigh bruises can be unpredictable and pesky ongoing injuries or they can disappear within a day or so.

I think Splitter is tougher than some on this site give him credit for. I've seen hit take some pretty good hits this year and shake them off.
