Could Play Next Season And Still Be A Top 5 Center In The Legue? I Do Big Dave Looks Like He Could Play3-4 More Years... I Betcha His Back Dosnt Hurt As Much Either

He would be a serviceable backup, but not a starter. Nice idea though. He can pull a George Foreman and come out of retirement. Imagine that, he retires after a championship, then comes out of retirement to win a title and then retire again on top.

One can dream.

Yeah, I hoped he wasn't goin to retire in 03 but he did. He won't ever come out of retirement but would be nice to see him back playing on the basketball court.

I would love to see him back in a Spurs uniform. I think he still has gas in the tank, and I can see him playing great defense.

He won't, but he could easily if he wanted to. And he could still be a starter, no problem.

Let him remain going out a winner and cheer the Spurs from the seats. The way Jordan should have done.

Robinson would get embarrased by other players if he comes back. His defense would be terrible and only certain days will be ok. Bad idea.

There's nothing wrong with what Jordan did...

A player of his caliber would probably miss the biggest part of his life after it's all over...it's probably hard to just one day decide that you are done with basketball after you have dedicated all those hours to it.

I loved Robinson on the court, but I think that what he is doing now is WAY more important then playing basketball.

DRob didnt have a problem using all those hours. He actually has his prioitires straight. DRob is an amazing human being (I know that sounds corny, but its the truth).

Let it go. He went out as a winner and now has other things in life to occupy his time.

He would still be the best center the Spurs ever had.

Definitely better than Rasho and Mohammed.

Physically I think that he could probably handle playing but he'd never be a top five center. Hell, if he was a top 5 center in 2003 it was more because of a lack of great centers at the time than his prowess. I think the real reason why he'd struggle is because basketball just isn't in his blood anymore. He walked away from the game with everything accomplished and zero regrets. I think the passion for the game is retired as well.

When you have bad disks they don't just get better... surgery does not put them
in a playable condition either..
