i LOVE stephen curry. one of my favorite non-spurs players. but its hard for me to name him a top 5 point guard when Jarret Jack closes for the warriors...

Paul, Parker, Kidd, Kyrie, and Rondo.

EDIT: actually, I guess this season Kidd isn't really playing at PG that much. In which case: Calderon. I think he's way underrated. Rose is disqualified for not having played yet this season.

OP didn't ask "who are the best point guards in the last 2 years." asking for current rankings

Paul. Without him the Clippers are a .500 team.
Parker. The Spurs don't need him to win a regular season game but need him for the postseason.
Westbrook. Talented but maddeningly inconsistent.
Irving. Already a talent in controlling a game, but needs to learn when to get his teammates involved.
Curry. Best shooter from the 1 position since Nash. Too fragile to get into the paint with regularity however.

Good list, though i will put Curry or Irving above Rondo personally. Too much of a assists/rebounds statpadder, weak shooter, and bad influence/no maturity, no matter how good he is as a ball handler & floor general, out of PG position. His defense is also regressing this season, usually his strong acumen. And Holliday is just as good if not better compared to Lillard, he's the motor of that Philly team.

Not eligibile IMO: Rondo, Rose.

1. Tony Parker
2. Chris Paul
3. Kyrie Irving
4. Russell Westbrook
5. Jrue Holiday

I didn't count Rose and Rondo, who are currently not playing. Rose likely would have bumped Holiday from my top five. Parker is having the best year of his career for the second year in a row. He dominates other elite point guards, having torched three of the five on my list in the past year. CP3 is my pick for MVP though. He is more valuable to his team than any other player in the league IMO. Clippers would be a lottery team without him. Irving will probably be the top PG in a few short years. Westbrook is a SG masquerading as a PG, but at 8 assists a game he's doing a pretty good job. To round out the top five I'm taking Holiday over Curry. It stunned me to find out he actually has a higher shooting percentage than Curry, who strangely shoots better from 3 than he does from the field overall.

rondo is a stat padding fag and shouldn't be up there even if he was healthy. rose, on the other hand, was indubitably the best PG around the league before injury and if he can make a 100% recovery he'll still be a top 3 PG at least. the best 3 PGs of the next decade will be CP3, rose and irving imho

Any further commentary regarding your guy, mate ? I think Conley's a good PG, but he has flatlined the past 2 seasons, kinda disappointing. Did playing with Rudy Gay stunt his growth as a player & leader ? A bit going through the motion after getting that big contract ?

I still think Derrick Rose is the best PG in the NBA (assuming he comes back 100%), but I can't really disagree with the rest of the list. I'd throw in D. Will but that dude needs to get his shit together. Probably won't happen before the year's up either. Definitely needs to put some work in over the offseason to get back into form.

After he owned TP that playoffs, i kinda expected more over him, such as cracking top 5 PG list conversation, arguably. He hasn't, so there it is. 13 PPG, worst APG (5.9) & shooting % (42) than last 2 years, if not flatlining, then what it is ?
