I wish the President could properly convey his condolences to the families of troops lost in battle...

Greg Szymanski, July 6

...

"His mouth kept moving, but there was nothing in his eyes or anything else about him that showed me he really cared or had any real compassion at all. This is a human being totally disconnected from humanity and reality. His eyes were empty, hollow shells and he was acting like I should be proud to just be in his presence when it was my son who died for his illegal war! It was one of the most disgusting experiences I ever had and it took me almost a year to even talk about it," said Sheehan in a telephone conversation from Washington D.C. where she was attending a July 4th anti-war rally.

Sheehan said the June 2004 private meeting with the President went from bad to worse to a nightmare when Bush acted like he didn’t even want to know her name. She said Bush kept referring to her as ‘Ma’ or ‘Mom’ while he "put on a phony act," saying things like ‘Mom, I can’t even imagine losing a loved one, a mother or a father or a sister or a brother.’

"The whole meeting was simply bizarre and disgusting, designed to intimidate instead of providing compassion. He didn’t even know our names," said Sheehan. "Finally I got so upset I just looked him in the eye, saying ‘I think you can imagine losing someone. You have two daughters. Imagine losing them?’ After I said that he just looked at me, looked at me with no feeling or caring in his eyes at all."

...

"My daughter said to him directly ‘I wish I could bring my loved one back’ and he said something like ‘so do we.’ Later she told me that after he made his remark he gave her one of the filthiest looks she had ever had gotten in her life.

A year to express his anger? Would've taken me about 10 seconds!

I'm sure there are countless families who have stories that would be the exact opposite of this. Telling of the concern and compassion shown to them by the President. The feelings are between their anguished families and the President. No need to be egged on by the Liberal Media to use their son's service and ultimate sacrifice to his country as a political ploy!!

Thank God for those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom! May God have mercy on the souls of those who demean that sacrifice by parlaying it into an opportunity to score politically!!

Oh please, save me the holier than thou sac religious garbage. W uses every opportunity he gets to use the memories of our 911 heroes to help justify his war and continued occupation even though no established link has ever been found between Iraq, Al Queda, 911 or the hijack pilots by any committee on the planet. Where is your moral outrage? The real outrage should be that W has always had a contempt for other peoples lives, that why he holds the modern day record for the killing of hundreds of Texas death row prisoners during tenure as Governor of Texas - some mentally ill, some still kids, some probably innocent, and even a born-again Christian like himself whom W publicly mocked to a Texas Monthly reporter before she was strapped to a gurney and injected with poisons.

You're in the wrong state, bub. He was keeping the rest of us from getting a rope and doing the job ourselves. Maybe you should instead see the contempt of life shown by the people on death row, if you weren't blinded by your hate of the current adminstration and W.

Where are the "probably innocent" and where is your proof? Where was your proof for the years that these bastards lived off the taxpayers so that all leads/appeals are exhausted?

Tell me that people like the guy who recently abducted and molested the little girl in Montana (while killing her mother & brother) doesn't deserve to die? What are his chances of being "rehabilitated"? Zip.
