It would be sweet if NY would get it, but the people here don't have their act together.

I'm going with Paris, since TP is promoting them.

blaze89

NYC lost its chances when the Manhattan Stadium fell through. Moscow won't get it.

Looking back, Sydney wasn't supposed to get the games in 2000 beating Beijing. Athens was more of a sentimental vote.

I can't decide between London or Madrid.

My mom was treated like shit on her European vacation in Paris, but she loved London.

That'll teach Chirac to talk shit on the eve of the vote.

BTW, Tony spoke out today

Tony Parker of the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs said Paris' loss proved the IOC had an Anglo-Saxon bias.

"It's been three times now that Paris has been refused -- 1992, 2008 and 2012. I find that bizarre," Parker said. "We did everything we had to do. I don't know what more we could have done.

I'd suggest either one of the following two items:

1. vote YES to EU constitution.

2. reguarly clean the public sidewalk restoom facilities - or replace them with the self cleaning kind they have in San Fransisco.

I recieved these tips from my special pipeline into the brains of IOC members. :princess

When they anounced the winner there was around 4000 vbookie money bet on London. Now it's already over 11000. Will this vbookie event ever be closed?

Kori Ellis
07-06-2005, 10:44 AM
Well I was told this would be announced today at 6pm our time before I made the vBookie; that's why it's still open. Looks like everybody who cheated and voted for London AFTER it was announced fucked it up for everyone else. This vBookie is going to get voided and EVERYONE is going to lose. I can't believe you guys are such low lives that you bet on something after it's announced.

I guess we just won't have vBookies anymore.

I'm so bad at vBookie that even when I win, I lose.

Kori Ellis
07-06-2005, 11:03 AM
The only way that I can pay it out is if those who cheated confess so I can adjust their totals. So this is an open invitation for confessions, otherwise we aren't going to have vBookies anymore.

Kori Ellis

post the names of who changed bets

No one changed the bets. People bet after London was already announced -- which is cheating. I can see who bet but I don't know what time they bet.

I did bet yesterday on London, because I've seen 1st hand how well the British were prepared and because from a security point of view they are going to do an excellent job and take advantage from the fact they're an Island so the security at the games themselves will be much less stiff than it was for example in Salt Lake city.

I know there were only a few bets when I placed mine but I honestly do not remember who it was - I just didn't pay attention. I imagine they were quite a few more after I logged out yesterday.

I am quite willing to forfeit the bet if it means keeping the vBookie, since I for one have had a ton of fun with it (even if now I don't know shit about baseball :))

How is doing some quick research and inside info cheating?

face it they got over, they have scoreboard. let them enjoy the moment it's not like it's real cash. and besides if you bet enough you will lose it all eventually.

I have inside Info the Raiders will win the supper bowl does that mean my bet won't count? :lmao

Hey, hey, hey! I admit I "cheated". I voted for London after they had won but did not at all think my vote would ACTUALLY count! It was a feeble attempt at sarcasm since the link was still up yet the winner had already been announced. Besides, I really don't even know how this vbookie stuff works.

Had I known that an actual transaction would be made I certainly would have refrained.

I was not thinking, I had no motive, I was just being a goof. My apologies for any negative repercussions. :oops

You and Mouse are idiots.

It wasn't inside information. It was ANNOUNCED -- it was fuckin' over! There was just a mess up in the closing time of the vBookie.

For all the shit I do for everyone here on a regular basis. And the fact that this site is run with no ads, etc. And you guys cheat (or think it's cool to cheat) on a fuckin game.

Assholes.

GrandeDavid

London. Paris will get jobbed. Looks like they did!

Here was my original post. Obviously it was made long after London had been announced the winner and was intended to be a joke, i.e. "I bet London will win...hey guess I was right!" Duh, everybody, myself included, knew Paris would win. I thought that it had been known that London had already won and that any polls would be closed.

Who else did it?

Kori Ellis
07-06-2005, 12:58 PM
This is the second time this crap has happened. Remember last year when the odds were incorrect in a football game and so a bunch of people piled on (knowing that it was wrong) and then we had to void the whole thing.

It's a game. It's not even for money. And people cheat?

Low.
