It's a boring and unfunny story so i wont waste your time with all the details... I was leaving a bar last night and walking with a group of 4 others WALKING to a friends house party 4 blocks away. We got to the main road and everyone yielded to the do not walk sign. Dumbass me, though, i bolt across. When I get to the other side a cop is sitting there and yells at me to come over. I had only had 5 or 6 beers at this point starting at 5:30, it is now about 9:30. Cop gets my id tells me to sit on the front of his car. Another cop shows up and we start having a cordial conversation; where are you going? what are you doing? etc... Original cop comes up and asks how many ive had, I tell him. Then he sees me looking for my credit card, he says "What are you looking for???!" I said " oh just my card, make sure i didnt leave it at the bar." "Hah! Wha! you dont remember giving me your id just now?? You just gave it to me!". "UHhh no, my credit car..." (Cuts me off)"You must be alot more drunk than you're letting on."

So the guy continues checking my shit, I figure, worst case scenario, Jaywalking ticket. He walks up to me and asks where I'm going, I tell him and he asks if I plan on continuing to drink. I said yes. He slaps the cuffs on me and says he's taking me in. I was dumbfounded, I was thinking suuuuurrreely we'll get to the station and they'll release me. I didnt do anything besides jaywalk and they dont take you in over that. I dont say anything to the cop on the drive other than "what is your name" and "you should have just given me a jaywalking ticket, I am not intoxicated" to which he replies "Oh i'm gonna give you that too!" (fucking asshole).

So we get there, i'm booked and 4 hours later i go see the judge. He tells me im in because of an unpaid speeding ticket from 2 years ago that I thought had been thrown out. HE says "tell you what, christmas spirit and all, we'll consider time served tonight and wipe this from the record if you plead no contest to this charge. "No contest!" I was like sweet!, a-hole cop lied to me and brought me in on a warrant, fuckin liar. But this is good, I'll be out of here in an hour and a half having lost out on only a few hours of my life. 3 hours later they FINALLY call my name. No not to leave, but to go back to see the judge. Nooowwwww he wants to tell me about my jaywalking and pi tickets. He asks me how I plead. I say " 100% guilty on jaywalking, I definitely broke the law on that." "and the PI?" "100000000% not guilty at all. I'd like a trial by judge and hopefully your officer is truthful when we meet in court." Judge says ok, your officer is going to argue that a) he smelled alcohol on your breath (no fucking shit, I had been drinking and was WALKING to my destination. I had admitted to drinking.) b) that you were stumbling in front of his police vehicle (bull fucking shit). c) that your eyes were bloodshot (very doubtful. I wasnt high and I was only 5 beers deep before 10 oclock. And d.) that you were looking for your id after you had given it to the officer. (:rolleyes).

So... no sobriety tests of any kind, no miranda rights read, friends and possibly another officer than can corroborate my side of the story.

Anyone have advice on how I can get out of this? What I can do during my hearing? How I can collect evidence on my behalf? Appreciate all suggestions except for sarcastic ones.

Trying to get my sons last name changed from his mother's last name to my last name. We filled out the 'Petition to Change the Name of a Child' and had it notarized and everything. I took it to the court house and the clerk said to me "you know I can't give legal advice, but if you were able to speak to a lawyer, they could tell you howto get this petition filed and the name changed for free (or for a lot less than the $265 filing fee they normally charge). Anyone have any idea what she is talking about? I was referred to a lawyer here in town by the State Bar that spoke to me for about 10 minutes and he laughed and said no way, a lawyer would cost you $500 minimum---he may have known a loophole around the filing fee but as some asshole lawyers go, wasn't willing to tell me for free.

So help me out with this if you know anything!

So I thinkk I've bragged a few times on here that I've got a shit load of speeding tickets and justified it by saying for only $1-$2 a day I can drive as fast as I want, anywhere I want.

Well, the speeding tickets have finally caught up to bite me in the ass. I've recently been denied employment at two kick-ass jobs due to my driving record.

What pisses me off is that government agencies only go back 3 years and in the past 3 years I have had 4 speeding tickets. According to my Complete driving record that I got from TDPS online, I only have about 7 speeding tickets in 11 years of driving... not bad considering about 6 have seemingly dropped off my record. It also shows one crash in 2006, minor fender bender that was technically my fault and was a claim on my insurance. As well as 1 DWI, 8 years ago when I was 19. Neither of the jobs I was denied employment at give a shit about the DWI (I think) because it happened so long ago and it was classified as class b misdemeanor, and I've since passed a risk assessment through Texas Dept of Family and Protective Services.

So it pisses me off that 4 little speeding tickets are preventing me from getting a job that I have EARNED. The first one is at a regional Mental Health Mental Rehab, I can understand their point of view because I'd sometimes be driving their vehicles and their patients, they'd have to insure me while I'm on the clock and going back 3 years in my driving record, they can only abide 3 or less points... I have 4 points on my record in the last 3 years. Understandable. They say to come back in January when the fourth point drops off and the job is yours. Great.

The second job was at a Consumer Direct company and I would never drive their vehicle or their customers. The job was as good as mine, I thought it was a done deal, I was heading to Austin this weekend to meet with them on Monday to sign papers and officially be hired... until i get a bullshit email from their program director bitch yesterday saying:

Because I worked hard and paid my dues and now have a very good job. I come from a successful family and I had 2 children with and will eventually get married to a girl who comes from an extremely wealthy family. Now I work because I want to, not because I need to. We go on lavish vacations all the time and I work to basically fill the time between vacations. I would never outright brag about these things but when they make up lies about me working at Taco Bell and being a loser I feel obligated to set them straight :lol
