Couple of years ago I was sleeping about 4 hours per night with an afternoon nap. Didn't know why I was putting on weight, till my doctor explained that my body was so tired my metabolism had slowed down to conserve energy. Just adding a couple of hours has made a huge difference in keeping my weight normal.

I have had a memory foam topper for the last 8-9 years, it's great but ruins all other beds for you.

5 or 6, I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets that amount of sleep. Honestly though, when I try and get 8+ hours of sleep I feel overslept in the morning and even more tired than I feel after 5 or so hours.

I will still wake up at 5 on the weekends even if I went to bed at 2 but I will usually catnap till 7:30 or however long my blue heeler will let me go before she gets totally obnoxious. If I try to ignore her she will just stand on my chest and whine or lick my face.

when we had our queen sized bed, we had a 3 inch memory foam topper that made a world of difference in its comfort (which is saying a lot because the mattress was already comfortable). Just know that if you are going to buy one of these, don't cheap out. Get a good one. The cheap ones are shit and get uncomfortable quickly.

i often stay in bed for protracted hours while being awake, and the actual sleeping time for me is also in the range of 6-7 hours a day i guess. a man doesn't need 8 hours or longer sleep everyday imho. 10 hours for a retard and 9 hours for a woman, while 7 hours of sleep is well enough for a man tbh

For the past ten or so years of my life, I've regularly slept on 3.5-4.5 hrs a night. For three of those years I was sleeping 2.5-3.5 hrs per night. I actually just went to a doctor and he prescribed me melatonin. Haven't been following through with it though.

FuzzyLumpkins

You don't need a prescription for melatonin. Get ambien, it works better.

Heard bad things about ambien, but if the melatonin doesn't work for me I might have to give it a shot anyway.

I've used melatonin before to no avail. My mind is just too active to sleep sometimes. What works best for me is a bong hit.

That's just it. I'm not a regular toker either. Always been a lightweight and only smoked it because it was a social thing. I haven't bought any for some time, but that's what I do if I have stretched finding it difficult to sleep. This local Oregon grown stuff puts me out like a light. My mind goes into careless wandering. Sleep soon follows.

I've had problems with sleep since early High School and my body has adapted to bad habits, tbh..

It's virtually impossible for me to fall asleep before 4..I get 7-8 hours of sleep, but I wake up 6-7 times during this period, which negates the length:lol..

Yeah, I'd definitely use it as a sleep aid if it were legal. For whatever reason that particular medicinal aspect of it gets ignored. Hate going through drug dealers.

I forget but not a high dosage at all and I weigh 225-230. I've only taken it 4-5 times so i wouldn't know much about any dependency you might develop from it, but if I have something important the next day and need to get a good night sleep it's what I take.

Melatonin is great. I rarely take it anymore since I can poetry much sleep on command now, but you wake up feeling like a million bucks. Just make sure to go directly to bed after taking it and give yourself at least 8 hours to sleep.

Most the people I know who have sleep troubles use Ambien without problem. I know a few who say melatonin doesn't work for them.

I've always been the type who is out cold the second my head hits the pillow, but a few months ago I had a bit of a breakdown with such severe anxiety I was sleeping about 2 hours a night for a couple of weeks and literally climbing the walls. During that time my doc was adjusting meds but it was taking so long to get results I thought I was gonna die. Luckily my bff had a connection for some pretty good weed and hooked me up. Saved my life.

Huh, weed usually worsens my anxiety if it is there. I learned never to touch weed if I have anything weighty on my mind as it has and can send me into a full-blown panic attack.
