Not just Rondo, but Chalmers is probably a better defender than he is an offensive player.

jason kidd anyone? dude was a d-first PG and he barely involved himself in scoring or something, but tbqh 90% of their offensive plays were initiated from this egg head. dude just delivered assists for fun and it's not like he was trying to pad stats something like rondo does tbh. losing kidd was just as big a hit to dem mavs as the departure of TC imho, they were at least a playoff team when they had a real PG in the backcourt :cry

Was a 38 year old Jason Kidd still a good defender when the Mavs won it all though? I don't know. I'm asking.

Yes. He played great d on Kobe and wade and Westbrook. Had key steals too
