Entertaining game so far.
OK, Brooks finally played Ronnie Brewer...
then plays Derek Fisher ahead of Reggie Jackson :lmao
Thunder are 16-1 when they score 30+ in the first.
Guess what the 1 loss is. :downspin:

didn't see the play, but i'm guessing its where he rips through the defenders arms. imo if the defender isn't moving his arms and they're extended, it should be an offensive foul if anything, for striking the other guy's arms

I was under the impression if it wasn't a natural shooting motion (which the Durant move is not) it should be a no call?

All depends. I think McGee could be developed into a very solid bigman, but it'll take a few seasons. The second one is what Denver needs now.

Fair and impartial refereeing down the stretch in the 4th. This is a pleasant surprise.
Gallo wasn't set on that KD "charge," but Collison was in the restricted area (barely) when he took a "charge" on the very next play, so that balances out.
Other than that, the 4th has been called fairly. I didn't watch the rest of the game
jestersmash
03-19-2013, 09:18 PM
I'm also surprised that the OKC announcers called KD out on carrying the ball on that "charge" call against him.
Although, a lot of superstar players carry the ball all the time (Derrick Rose is notorious for it) and it's usually kind of ignored.

Haven't watch a lot of Denver games so sample size might be small. Is andre miller their "closer"?
jestersmash
03-19-2013, 09:22 PM
Yeah it's really amazing how influential reffing can be in a game. I mean, take that last Westbrook drive into the lane as an example. There was average contact (for which most players don't get the call), but Westbrook usually gets free throws on minimal body contact like that 90% of the time. That's a potential 4 or 5 point swing if he makes 2 free throws and Miller misses on the other end.
Or Durant being called for the charge. Gallo wasn't set, but on the other hand KD carried the ball and used his off arm to push off (a little bit). IMO that probably should be a no call in reality but I feel like KD would get free throws in that situation if it was a close game in the playoffs.

In terms of viewing, ideal seeding for the West should be
1. SA
2. OKC
3. DEN
4. MEM
5. LAC
6. GSW
7. HOU
8. LAL
Every single series has a storyline, except Denver/Golden State.

Hey I'm here to give respect for what Denver is doing. Ill recognize when OKC is owned. How far can Denver go? 2 weeks ago I woulda said no more than round 2 but I don't know now that I would be that shocked if they made the WCF. The playoffs are a different animal though so WCF might be a stretch for Denver this season

Nuggets with a good chance of finishing up 3rd (maybe even 2nd if OKC has a downturn in the next few games).
Great team that plays without a superstar and can run the opposition out of the building any given day.
Most likely playoff seeding in the West, IMO:
Spurs, Thunder, Nuggets, Clippers, Grizzlies, Warriors, Lakers, Rockets
