Dude is 35, can't be looking at his performances at his age and claim he isn't a Hall of Famer. His Hall of Fame resume was written 3-8 years ago.

I didn't say he's the best Celtics player ever, but its definitely nice to have "Celtics all time leading scorer" on your resume, provided he passes Hondo.

dude has the athleticism of my grandma's but he displays the best fundamentals the world has ever seen tbh. you don't see any juggling movements from him but he can always create comfortable shots for himself using his fundamentals and experience, he's a textbook to amateur and semi-professional players tbh

I've always respected Paul. Annoying how someone that unathletic can be effective. Everything he does is pretty much in slow-motion for his step-back jumper to his drive. But he's clutch, a great competitor and a solid defender. If anything he's underrated.

Lieing about not returning to Los Angeles, Game 2.

Letting Artest take his pants down, Game 7.

Not wiping the scum from the corners of his mouth in Los Angeles, Game 7.

Not picking the wooley boogers out from his armpits in Los Angeles, Game 7.

He was overrated for a while IMO, but he has been underrated since Rondo's stat-padding emergence, tbh..

- Perennial 20+ PPG player
- Best scorer on a championship team and another Finals team
- Perennial All-Star
- Still a top 20-25 player in the league
- Top 5 "closer" of his era
- Matched Lebron in 2008 and outplayed Kobe in the Finals the same year

HOF near-lock IMO..

This brings up an interesting question (to me, at least): Is the all time-scorer from each team in the Hall of Fame? I know that a couple of franchises are too young to have HOFer yet. Durant will probably get there, though. So with the exception of Charlotte, is every team's all-time leading scorer in the Hall or on his way there?

Not sure about every team. Bur for most, I would say so. I mean, look at the great players that have suited up for the Celtics. Halvicek, Cousy, Russell, Bird, McHale, Parish, etc. To have scored more points in your career than all of those dudes says you're something special. Now, if you're the all time leading scorer for say, the Clippers, the Suns, etc, it doesn't say as much.

The guy's amazing. You could cut his throat, put him in a wheelchair, wrap a bandage around his chin for no reason, force him to throw up gang signs, and he'll still drop a quarter on you with a clutch three for good measure. Ninja is cold blooded. He's kind of strange the way he acts sometimes and he can be pretty annoying, but his game gets respect.

Under-rated definitely, he never made any all-defensive team which is ridiculous. He's not only a great scorer, but a very efficient one. One of the best in the clutch, the best of his generation. Good rebounder, good passer, 3pt champion, lot of steals too.

Prime Pierce is as good as pretty much anyone. I'd take prime Pierce over Wade in a second for example. The fact that he raised his game and clutchness as the stakes got higher makes him a lock to HOF

Thread
03-20-2013, 07:08 PM
It was nice seeing him get his in the '10 Finals. Media was outraged. They got no bites at the apple. They so wanted to shish-ka-bob Kobe there, get him stopped before he passed Daddy and got his over the Celtics. Sure, Magic had gotten straighted out, but, Kobe was still in peril after '08. Pierce, & Allen fucked game 7 up so badly and to this day neither have had to answer for it.

Overrated? :downspin:

Dude is one of the most underrated superstars I've ever seen, IMO.

I can't think of many players that were as balanced as he is, and able to do it mostly with great fundamentals and skill, as opposed to extreme athletic ability.

When he needed to, he showed a great ability to play lockdown defense even against elite scorers like Kobe, while being able to dominate offensively against elite defenders. Incredibly clutch. He could pretty much beat you any way you want offensively, whether its through driving and scoring, posting up and getting to the basket, hitting difficult fadeaways, catch and shoot 3s, etc...

I think a great argument can be made that he is the 3rd best SF of all time, behind only Lebron and Bird.

Worthy was a role player, he wasn't going to create his own shot in the half court when the game came down to grind it out in the fourth quarter. that was magic's and kareem's job. you can't compare apples and oranges, one is a legit #1 go to option and one isn't. Nah, I ain't buying it. He lost a quite a bit of his athleticism after he It was time for him to go. His game relied upon athleticism and he couldn't adjust his game to compensate for the lack of it.
