this morning on Mike Taylor, Jason Garrett of Airrosti (TP/Spurs rehab center) said "He (Tony Parker) could have come back a week and half ago." He also said "if this was the playoffs he would be playing."
seems like the Spurs are milking this injury. i expect TP to be back Friday.

that's good news, it must have not been as severe as it first looked, or TP is in fact a fast healer.

this would not surpise me ... I had huge ankle twists before and never had to rest more than 2 weeks ... a professional athlete like TP should heal that fast

Nice to hear from someone else. I felt reassured when Pop started saying Parker would be back earlier than expected. He's the most cautious of coaches so if he's saying Parker will be back earlier and is looking good then we know Parker is ready to go. :tu

Great news. Hopefully Parker is using this extra time off to get his jump shot back up to speed. For most of the season, that long 2 has been deadly.

Coming in town for Heat game - hope to see Tony - no need to rush him back though as Spurs continue to win......

Would be sick if he surprised everyone and played tonight!!!
I'm surprised he's coming back so fast, either the ankle injury wasn't as severe as everybody thought or he's lying. It can't be easy seeing the Spurs struggle against these scrub teams for TP.

He wanted to make his case for MVP status, if he comes back and starts putting up 30 a night and we start winning we'll all be breathing a sigh of relief and wondering what took him so long.

They are probably playing it safe, can't blame them.

Anyone expect him to start or come off bench?I'd bench for a couple of games.
Just Pop being cautious with injuries, remember he could have had Duncan play through a bad knee in the 1999-2000 season and he chose to shut him down instead.

Really good question.
I would rather he start and play fewer minutes with the players he knows best.

He's only going to play the minutes Pop wants him to play. It doesn't make sense for TP to come off the bench.

I hope when Tony comes back we can quit playing Manu. He's been awful.

Had Duncan been healthy the Spurs had a great shot at back to back title runs and possibly getting the upper hand on a young LA team that went on a tear.

Yeah, but remember, the Lakers were simply nuts that season. Prime Shaq AND a newly signed Phil Jackson (insert asterisk title rant here).

LA played great that season but we had a 3-1 regular season edge on them, we matched up well and would have given them a run for it especially with a healthy Tim.

Yeah. difficult call. If you start him then Kawhi recent offensive boost, takes a hit. If you bring him off the bench then you'd be having him share the ball with Manu which could throw Manu off.
