Weeds. I gave it a season, and that was way too generous. Idiotic writing and character developments. Seemed like no research whatsoever and the plots were overrecycled! About the only thing original was the basic premise and even that was developed pretty bad.

I mean, I was like 12. But still, those 20 or so half-hours of my life wasted when I could have been playing a good video game.

No idea what compelled me to watch Rescue Me to the very end. What a boring ass show.

Prison Break had a great 1 and a half seasons and then they went in "retarded, what the fuck this doesn't make sense mode."

Sadly, I have to admit

Jersey Shore (:lol)

also The Big Bang Theory. This was around the time I was looking for a new show to watch. Everyone kept saying watch the Big Bang Theory. Watched it. Thought it was okay. Then Season 3 came around and I fucking regretted it.

Girls(watched about 5 minutes of it and after seeing the chubby creator of the show topless that pretty much turned me away from it)
Shameless(the U.S. version)
Downton Abbey(this show is extremely boring)

Heroes - The second season was so bad it made me question my enjoyment of the show as well as the super-hero genre in general. The answer was "no," and I've shied away from superhero crapola ever since.
Taken - Steven Spielberg produced sci-fi, what could go wrong? Answer: everything

Prison Break was awesome until the 3rd season. Once they did an entire season in that other prison it ruined everything. The writers literally said fuck it...if they would have made the escape unsuccessful on the 1st season it might have been a benefit but we'll never know.

Still, the 1st season and 2nd season were pretty good imo.

Recently-ish :

Battlestar Galactica - Not even a scifi nerd like me could finish the final season. The show jumped the shark when cylons became more human

Game of Thrones - Won't lie the last season was boring as hell, they couldn't fill enough entertainment for hour long episodes. Relies on shock value to make up for poor production and boring characters. There better be a payoff with the Dragon lady and the boring Starks...goddam that romance storyline with the nurse felt rushed and well, crap (I will keep watching though)

Walking Dead - First season or two was solid enough, but this show is more of an example of the potential of a Zombie TV show instead of being a quality show in itself. Too much stupid happens and I feel more sorry for the zombies than most of the characters

The Wire - Very disappointed but still in the second season. The acting, lines, and characters feel wooden and boring. I understand the show is unique in its scope and its socioeconomic criticisms, but as a piece of entertainment it's not very entertaining and feels very dated

Mad Men - Can't get past the 2nd season. Characters are good, show is boring though.

Thank you for your time

I won't stick with anything that doesn't catch my attention within the first 15 min or so. But I did stick with True Blood for the first season and half the second season, gradually got so bad I had to quit. Once they established the vampires, they started introducing every other possible supernatural creature that I just don't care about. And every single episode someone ended up chained up in someone's basement.

I don't understand the idea of regretting watching something you've chosen to watch.

There are a ton of shows I've watched that weren't very good. Or shows I've watched for reasons I can't figure out. Or shows I've hate watched. Or whatever. But I don't regret having watched them.

Normally I give a new show two or three episodes to catch my interest. If I like it, Copper for example, I continue. If not, Grimm for example, I stop.
There're only two shows I watched a complete season and regretted it:
1. Las Vegas
2. Revenge

I just hate everyone in it except Daryl.. its poorly scripted... poorly executed and had an entire season of talking over feelings. Just wish it was done better. I still watch it I guess but I regret wasting time watching it when I shoulda spent the time watching Sons of Anarchy

There are only a handful of shows that really grab your attention.

I used to give up on shows within episodes myself and I must say, I missed out on some good shows because of this.

The reason you regret is because the show jumped the shark and you kept watching hoping for something interesting to happen but it never did. Like the Sopranos who's writers sold out and basically just said "fuck it" and ended it mid scene. All the "deep meaning" people surely piped up and commented on the underlying messages but the truth is it was a lazy offering. I could take a shit on canvas and someone would see a message in it, probably an Art History major.

um, I disagree. I think they knew what they were doing with that last scene. and it was very well done to that end. the opposite of jumping the shark, more like going out on top, when everyone didn't think they were really going to have to end it until the last minute.
