"Point guard Tony Parker’s availability for tonight’s game against the Utah Jazz won’t be determined until coach Gregg Popovich and the team’s medical staff evaluates how the five-time All-Star feels today after going through a brisk, full-court, five-on-five scrimmage after Thursday’s practice session.

As Popovich watched intently from an elliptical stepper near the practice court, Parker followed the five-on-five session with defensive slides from one end of the court to the other.

Parker, who suffered a Grade 2 sprain of his left ankle on March 1, officially is listed by the club as out for tonight’s game. But Popovich on Wednesday said it was possible he might play against Utah. The Spurs coach always has erred on the side of caution when returning players to game action after injuries."

He has been fine for a while from what I heard, meaning a week or so. Pop just playing it safe. If he comes back tonight cool, if not Sunday it is.

Questionable? That means he's practically ready to go. :downspin:

I'd rather Parker sits this one out too. The Jazz are struggling as bad as anybody and aren't even winning home games anymore. We should be able to win this one without TP's services. In the meantime, if its questionable and he's even 1% unsure, I'd rather just have him sit this one out and come back next game.

I think he can sit this one out. At worst he'll be readier by the Houston game.

Utah's been a strange team, though... their bench is outscoring their starters by a considerable margin.

I respectfully disagree. The sooner we get him playing time, the sooner he can regain his rhythm, the sooner this team can find its footing. We'll need things to be clicking on all cylinders come playoff time to have any chance at winning anything.

It's not like he's going to be vintage Tony immediately. He needs reps. Better to start getting them against a shit team like Utah.

Play tonight or not, the fact that he's going through full scrimmages is good enough for me. He'll be back more sooner than later, and the Spurs have more than held down the fort in the meantime.

Rest time is over Tony, time to get the team ready for the stretch run.

Can't wait to see him back on the floor, Parker has always been one to forget about his previous injury and go right back to where he left off. Good to see him active for tonight, should play 15 to 20 minutes to get his feet wet.

I'd like for him to play maybe 12-15 minutes to get his basketball conditioning back.
